  • I met her, several times, when younger, and her dad wrote a column in our local paper, and went to the church I grew up in. I don't know, if she has an Uncle Richard, and if so, if he is a 'dick' or not, or hunts.
Pretty much 'Minnesota' for a lot of guys to go out 'deer hunting', which usually means sitting in a deer stand, like that pic, drinking a lot of crap beer, and bitching about their wives!
I saw her reference, and like most, don't have a clue what to do about gun violence!
I won't post another thing about it, as many here are super-divided, and I don't think it is a topic (guns) for GAG!!
Why not discuss the more personal things, good things, like how great you look in some of your clothing posts!! I would much rather chat about that! :) :) :)

    • That was helpful. I’m pretty sure it was a MN saying now 😊

    • Some of us are a little out the 'mainstream' and more 'country' or 'farm' types at heart, even second or third generation, living in the city! It's a unique kind of culture, and there are a lot of good things about it! :)

    • MN has soo many huge cities. It's kinda scary traveling from ND. Duluth ain't too bad. I would actually be willing to live in Rochester, but no way I'd ever willingly spend time in the twins.

  • She's saying that she still wants people to be able to do the things they enjoy should the gun control measures go through. When she said she didn't want to "hurt my uncle Dick in the deer stand" she was saying she didn't want to ban all guns, leaving some common hunting rifles.

Of course, most of those are semi-automatic. AR-15s being one of the most popular. Some.308s are bolt action I guess, but that's kinda much more hassle finance and weight wise.

    • Well done. Real answer 👍🏻😊😊

  • People who want to ban semiautomatic rifles can suck my Uncle D.

    • 😳😂😁👏 👏😅

    • ☺️☺️

    • @Lliam I think you could have said it in a more socially acceptable way, but I agree, completely! Semi-Automatics are not the problem, it is the people with mental issues, not diagnosed, and in many cases KNOWN!! But nobody takes it seriously when someone posts a thing that they want to kill or shoot up a school! Get real!! MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES, are the true problem, not the weapons than MILLIONS of law-abiding citizens use for target shooting and hunting!

  • I didn't see but it sounds like material for the next Saturday Night Live

    • I agree ☝️ 😛😂😊

  • I have another question. Whoever thought Dick is a good nickname for Richard?

  • I have no idea what this is all about.

All I know is, I don’t want to spend a night in the deer stand with someone named Uncle Dick.

    • Lmao

  • I have noooo clue

  • Lol. I have no idea. But you just have to wonder in a kinda wtf way about that. 😂🤣

    • 😛😊😊

  • i will be in the deer stand though if you wanna come up

  • I have no idea 😂😅🌹

    • 😁😁🤷‍♀️😛

  • I live in England and we cracked the enigma code in the 2nd world war (despite what American movies may tell you lol) but that sentence is a f**king mystery to me! lol

    • i hate saying this but it was actually canandians working for the brits who did an incredible amount of the early intelligenc work in order to finally crack the code. and i only say it because that was my trade in the Canadian peacekeeping forces. please don't be offended. Canadians, and australians too, did a whole pile of stuff during WWII that isn't acknowledged. and to be honest - i know what a deer stand is but that sentence is a mystery to me, too! it must be a MN thing!

    • I thought Alan Turing made a big break through in cracking the enigma code.. not all on his one. But made heavy impact - he was British 🤷‍♀️😊 But I think it was a group effort. Go Canadiens 🥳 🥳 🥳

    • @kymberz Haha it was just a tongue in cheek answer to the question, but I agree with you completely! In fact my family have massive links with Canada due to the 2nd World war as my (great) Grandmother took in refugees who fled from Poland and escaped to England but eventually settled in Canada. So my very first trip abroad was to Montreal as a 4 year old ( very little memories of the trip to be fair lol) so I've always a soft spot for anyone from Canada!
