For no matter 25, 35, 45, 55 year old men, 20 year old women are the best?

- I don't know about a 15-35 yr difference, but for a lot of us, yes. Most guys I know are with younger chicks. I'm with a younger chick. I mostly dated younger chicks and also was probably mostly attracted to younger chicks. Now, part of this is because it is the norm for girls to go out with older guys, but some of it at least was my preference. Now, with both me, and the guys I know, this is like a 2-3 yr difference, and 10 at the most. With the ones that have a 10 yr gap, they didn't date those chicks until the girl was in her 20s and they in their 30s. I had friends that preferred older chicks as well and at least one now with an older chick, but, overall, i'd say that generally guys are attracted to younger girls. Not a gap of 15+ years in my experience, but younger nonetheless.1|00|0Is this still revelant?

Im just about 30 now and when i look at girls that are around 18-20 they just look like kids to me and I have no sexual interest at all.
That seems to start happening at about the 25yr old mark but I've also become more sexually interested in older women as well.
Like when I was 18 I had no interest in 40yr olds. But now when I see a fit 40 something at the gym I think I could very easily go home with her.
So i think most average guys tendancies do change as they age.
However, i do spend a lot of time in the Philippines and there is a lot of creepy old white men there looking for young women so I dunno, hopefully they are the minority.1|00|0Is this still revelant?

663- Yes. Physical (aka sexual) attraction is directly correlated to fertility. Youth and health imply fertility. The reason why you don't see all men going after 20 years old is, because there is more to a functioning relationship than physical peak attraction.

It is all about beauty, not about youth. It is nature to pursue beauty, I can understand.
Well we don't get more pretty as we age. That's just nature. And sure looking for beauty is superficial but after all humans are animals that strive for procreation with that best possible mate. And we'll the best possible mate for procreation is not a 45 yo woman that had her menopause already. It is a fact that the older the woman, the more likely it is to have birth complications or birth defects in the offspring. I think we instinctively know that, which is why we go for young girls. However for companionship, 20 is too young for me already so I guess that's a factor too.

You have your peak upfront. Men have to work for their peak. Biologically speaking men have little to no inherent value. Men are disposable. We could have only 1 men for 9 women and it wouldn't bother our species. Doesn't quite work the other way around.
So men end up having to prove themselves and grow into valuable and desirable people. Women have inherent value, but peak rather early.

@sejla You look for the rare biological exceptions. My biological arguments are based on what is normal. However, in the USA, our society's laws and customs, not biology determine the best age range. That is why, in the USA, almost all adult men are not interested in having sex with14 to 16-year-old girls, even though, their biology would say otherwise.
well we evolve and it comes down to respecting girls enough to let the be whole mature adults. Just because it was different in the past doesn't mean it wasn't harmful to the girls.
@sejla Absolutely it implies it was not harmful to our species. If it was harmful, natural selection would have selected a different path. Even a 1 percent (0.01) advantage per generation is equal to 1.01^1,000 = 21,000 to 1 advantage in 1,000 generations (about 20,000 years) which is an extremely short time in our evolutionary history.

@bamesjond0069 you got a point in this, but also its difficult to assume a woman got dumped a lot or dated a lot based on her age, maybe she was married to one man for years. also being dumped and facing heartache doesn't mean a person stops being nice
@Meropatrick technically true. But lets see how many sweet practically virginal women in the 30+ range you can find. I won't hold my breath. I've maybe met one who almost was as sweet as a young girl and she was a virgin but tbh to be a virgin by 28 you got to be pretty weird.
@bamesjond0069 Let me tell you what I think of that idea, especially if the guy is 50 to 55. Having kids at that age is pretty damn selfish in my opinion. If you have a kid at 55, you'll be 65 when they're 10 and 73 when they graduate high school? No, that's just wrong. But this question and responses have a lot of assumptions going on, including my own (which are at least based on people I know and what I see). All I can say about the "sex" thing is that I'm 34, and 18-25 year old women look a heck of lot sexier to me (in general), than 40 - 50 year old women, in general. I'm not saying there aren't a ton of great looking older women, but the question is about preferences. The asker presumes older guys prefer younger women, and I believe that's correct... in general !!! :)
I think its true but not just sex. There are lots of reasons men prefer younger women. Simply saying sex is wrong. As a 30is something year old who would date a 20 year old obviously fertility is a benefit. I don't know where your base assumption about 50 year old men comes from. Do you not consider a 10 year difference younger? I want kids so i primarily date women for fertility as the primary reason why i like younger girls. But maybe you just never thought of it? No girl my age is going to be able to wait a few years then be able to give me a large family. So even if i wanted to date a girl my age i just can't.
@bamesjond0069 I'm not denying there are many other reasons an older man may prefer a younger woman. I'm saying that sex is a leading reason. And I'm also NOT saying that anything at ALL about kids and family building for someone our age. What I DID say is I think it's selfish for a 50 - 55 + year old guy to start a family, period.
