How do you feel about the metro movement?

Would you rather a (girl/guy) who was sexually assaulted/raped tell a detective and they get asked what they are wearing and why was they with them etc

Or would you rather a (girl/boy) who been hurt sexually assaulted or raped not get called a liar for coming out and trying get help. And these criminals actually go to jail

Me: I would rather people actually take evidence and not accuse girls or lying all the time and actually try to case evidence before assuming.

  • I'm very much a due process kind of guy. Question both, but always presume innocence until the evidence says otherwise.. And no an accusation is not evidence.

And believe it or not asking questions like what were you wearing is part of investigation, it sets the scene.. Chances are the next question will be what was he wearing..

    • The problem with the #metoo movement is the majority of the people in it are also the #believewomen and #yesallmen type. They want to eliminate due process and destroy the foundation of our legal system.

    • It's funny how one person says one stupid thing and you group a good bunch of people with that. One persons stupid phrase even some women rape people. What that person was trying say is to believe everyone at first until proven other wise. It's like reporting your mom got kidnapped but you have no pictures of your mom and the cop like well show us your mom. Well she has no pictures so she apparently doesn't exist. Or u can have whole fucking picture of your mom and video of her crying for help. And they'll say well we need DNA so this isn't enough evidence to help her.

    • It's logic you can't believe all of anything. But you should believe people at the start until proven serious hardcore proof they are lying

  • Rape is probably the most difficult crimes to investigate. But that's not an excuse to not do it.

  • Have you ever prosecuted a sexual assault case?

    • No but I'm in law enforcement class and no the rules. I also know that cases are being slaughtered without real reputation

    • Why would a detective ask about a victim's clothing?

    • They always do

  • dont know what any of that has to do with the paris underground but i think you will find that whatever the outcome of a trial by media its only that due process applied by law courts that matters and im happy to leave it to them to sort out

    • Paris what lol?

    • you wrote metro instead of #metoo... this is the metro
How do you feel about the metro movement?

    • Oh lol yep it auto corrected

  • Don't blindly dismiss accusers, everyone needs to be heard and have their claims given legitimate attention, but you also can't blindly believe them all either. There always needs to be reasonable doubt to a certain degree.

    • Even with evidence cases are being ignored and dropped

    • Yup, and that's a problem.

  • First - I'm going to propose that the "what were you wearing" trope doesn't nearly happen as much as it's reported. Most police officers are actually concerned with finding criminals.

Second - if a person is innocent until proven guilty - that's NOT calling the person making the accusation a liar. That's following standard legal proceedings.

    • It does nearly happen and just cause it doesn't happen to even more people doesn't mean we don't need do something about it. And second it should be both ways. If their proven guilty why not continue the case instead just accuse women right off.

    • I'll bet it rarely happens that women are asked what they're wearing. Approaching zero. Your second sentence doesn't even make sense. What does 'continue the case' even mean?

    • They drop the case without continuing the case. It doesn't rarely happen it's not rare anymore it's 2020. It's so normal you'll be lucky to actually convict someone of rape even with evidence

  • I think it's stupid to say "what were they wearing" has nothing to do with that

  • I agree with you.

  • What the hell are you talking about?

  • The " what were you wearing " is a standard question for almost every crime reported in order to identify suspects and accusers. When a case comes to court , the prosecutors have to paint a picture for the entire crime scene , every detail down to the direction the person was standing has to be laid out.

Looks it's difficult, most of these cases are he said/she said without any sort of hard evidence. When sending someone to jail for 10-20 years, you have to be 100% sure.

    • Yeah everything you said is true. But that's not what I'm talking about lol.

    • Yeah, so WTF are you talking about?

  • I don't like it but won't stop it.
