Do you support the “Free the Nipple” movement?

This is a "No Judgment Zone", all opinions are welcome!

Top Freedom has actually been done successfully in many communities …like New York City for example, it is legal for a girl to be topless anywhere a guy is allowed to be bare chested, so it is not unusual to see topless girls in Times Square or Central Park on really warm days.

My last trip to New York City was 2½ years ago in September and it was still warm then. I went to both Times Square and Central Park …one must take advantage of those warm days when you're in New York …lol

Yes, it’s the exception and not the rule because of the success of ‘Slut Shaming’ by some, but why should a girl be put in jail for it, in some western localities, when everyone in western countries have seen a girl’s breasts before and there is nothing wrong with them…am I wrong?

One of the excuses given to not allow it, is that it turns guys on sexually, but wouldn’t that stop if it were more commonplace like it has been for centuries in many parts of the world with natives and with others where none of this has even been an issue? Should they be arrested too?

What is your opinion on this highly controversial subject? …be honest and be nice …OK?

A. I am totally in favor of females being allowed to be top free where, and when, guys are allowed to, as long as they are not flaunting themselves in an obscenely sexual way

  • Never understood why women's breast is regarded as obscene. The are exactly the same as men's chest, just larger and you can see that when they are fully covered everyday and everywhere. By the same logic that says a woman's breast is obscene and sexy, shouldn't a big belly be treated the same?

However, I may not be the best person to speak on this as I see nothing offensive about a completely nude body, whether male, female, short, tall, fat, skinny, scarred, perfect whatever. Its just a body and we all have them. Further, the body only really comes in two basic packages and we all know what those are.

    • Yes, and then there are 'man boobs' that are as big as many girls are with huge globs of hair all over them... like "YUK"!! ... and those are ok to flash around but not a females nice clean ones? ... lol

  • Doesn't bother me, don't tell me what to do and I won't tell you what to do as long as it doesn't effect me...😉

I do appreciate beauty and I do find women bodies beautiful and shit I find some dudes bodies beautiful too.

Shit I am not afraid to say it. If a dude is yolked (super buff and low body fat) I have no problem telling him I am jealous and he looks good.

But I would not linger in checking anyone out, that's creepy...

  • I don’t think a woman being bare chested should be illegal, but I definitely see it as bad taste. It’s the same as going to the mall and seeing a girl in a sports bra with shorts all the way up her ass. I just don’t think baring that much skin in public should be normalized

    • Fair comment "opinionated_hoe" lmao.

  • This opinion has two sides for me, the idealist and realist sides. Ideally, the body (male or female) shouldn't be sexualized in and of itself. If you walk in on someone changing for example, there is nothing inherently sexual about that experience on either side despite having seen someone naked.
On a realist side though, even if there is nothing sexual about seeing the body, I know that it would still attract attention and bring about inappropriate thoughts of anyone who could be remotely interested. Think of it this way, if a woman has a very low cut top where all but her nipples are showing. Nothing is illegal, wrong, or inherently sexual about that, but it will still attract attention (especially of those who are sexually attracted to the female).
So bringing these two sides together has two resolutions, both with benefits and faults.
First you could just leave the law as is or make men have to cover up too. This eliminates the risks and problems related to the other solution, but limits freedom of choice as well as comfort.
The second solution is to allow everyone to be topless as they please, but then it must be understood that people staring is inevitable. It must also be understood that as some people have a raise in sexual desire upon seeing breasts, that being approached, messaged, or other means of communication would become more frequent simply due to the pique in sexual interest. And on the extreme side, molestation and rape may see a peak as some people struggle with self control.
On the bright side though, is that the negatives would deteriorate as it normalizes as part of society, but that could take generations.
So my opinion is there are those two options, both with major downsides that society would adjust to over time.

  • California is a free nipple state, if a man can so can a woman. In fact, our anti-discrimination laws are broad enough that an establishment can't have a ladies night where women drink free because it discriminates against men. These same laws were instrumental in making Eharmony and Christian Mingle accept homosexual customers. And are also why Grindr can't say "no straight people!"

What keeps women covered is more about social norms and modesty than legality.

Interestingly, the Supreme Court has ruled that mooning is considered freedom of expression and a person cannot be charged for baring their ass in such a manner, provided it is not done to titillate and arouse. Which is why there is a day in Cali where people line up to moon passing trains. Oh, and you need to keep those genitals covered in the process. That was not considered protected speech.

Though California has no anti-nudity laws, city and county laws will prevail if the state or federal lands fall within those jurisdictions. So if you give them the fruit basket or let the pink slip while mooning local laws will determine if you are in the clear or not.

  • Meh. Just another idiotic idea by modern-day feminists. Wonder what the original feminists who sought to keep females from being viewed as just sexual objects or for male entertainment would think.

Well, they'd probably spit on the word feminism if they saw that passes as it today.

I mean can't these useless women do something useful aside from parade around like attention-seeking clowns? Why not actively protest legitimate discrimination in eastern societies. Why not actively seek to gain equal rights across the globe.

Oh, wait... that requires actual brains & hard work.

    • ** just sexual objects or for male entertainment would think ** don't believe me about this read some of the comments by the guys. As obvious as the nose on their faces how they view this.

    • i like you.

    • Most of these pathetic guys in favor of it pretend to be about "women's liberation" in a simp like attempt get validation from women, even though all they're thinking about is being able to view free soft porn on the street.

  • I support it 100%

    • Does it mean you consider it a right for whoever wants to to act like that or you want to interact topless in the society too?

    • @ThinkerShell I just think that if I want my tits hanging out in proper places I should legally be able to do so as should any other female.

    • OK I got you I wanna know how much it may be common for women to be willing to act like that. So, imagine its legal... Will you revolve topless around?

  • I personally don't want to walk around topless in front of old people and children, I'd feel creepy and shameful.

  • I voted A. Yay!
I mainly oppose legislation against it. It should not be a criminal offense.
I doubt if many woman would go topless even if it weren't a crime. And a good percentage of those who did might make people wish the could unsee what they had seen. "Attention Walmart shoppers." The fact is, some tits are NOT attractive. But so what? I have a magical ability to look away if I want to.
Oh, and fuck people who think they need to protect their children from the sight. Those people are raising their kids to be inhibited and ignorant.

Women with nice boobies would have to be okay with being ogled. At the same time, visible tits should not give license for men to make rude comments, cat call, touch, stalk or be creepy any more than such behavior is acceptable now against women whose nipples are not visible. Men admire the sight of a woman with nice tits now, right? So a woman who displays them more prominently should be treated no differently.

There's something else. Celebrity women at gala events wear fashions that show every part of their tits except for nipples. Tits are something to be proud of. I would like to see fashions for everywoman that show visible boobies and nipples. I'm thinking of tasteful designs made of transparent fabrics, for example. I wish something like that would become commonplace.

by the way, isn't it ironic for women who are protesting to free the nipple to wear pasties, stickers or tape over their nipples? Lol

  • Î think it's inappropriate really…. I mean it's really sexual. A guy's chest isn't at that level. I know it's societal but still.
Anyway, I'm fine if it's at the beach or if it's a political protest but or else nah

  • I'm for it but if guys stare at you because of it I really don't want to hear any complaints.

  • I don't have an issue with people being comfortable. The potential issue is that the breasts are, socially speaking, a sexualized part of anatomy. If people become accustomed , then topless women will become more commonplace.

Personally, I don't go shirtless in public. It never appealed to me.

  • Right now it can go either way until people have self control it's going to go south in all for people living their life as the want to it's their to do with as they please, I admire and applause support those brace enough to take this challenge head on, but I always say choose your battles wisely, can't fight in every battle

  • I think that the choice to cover or to not cover breasts should be left to the individual they are attached to. Of course in places where men are required or expected to wear shirts the same would apply to women. I don't think you'd see toplesness all that often still, but that should be the individual's choice, not the government's.

  • Surely wouldn’t mind but I have my moments so I’m kinda in between yes and no.

  • Here is the problem: When the sexuality is used as a weapon. See the picture below:

Do you support the “Free the Nipple” movement?
    • In other words, if women start going topless, they should not be surprised if men look.

  • I think allowing women and men to go completely topless in public is not a problem, the problem comes from people not able to keep their pants on. Some guys (*I know not all guys are this way*) dont know how to see nudity without turning into a horny teenager again.

I think we should double down on teaching guys how to manage their sexual desire and eventually it would be totally plausible for ladies to bear it all whenever they please.

Again I dont think all men are sex crazed and out of control I just know that some guys dont know how maintain their composure around nudity.

  • I am of the mind that if a man is allowed to go topless a women should also be allowed to go topless. Boobs are not a sex object, therefore there should be no reason why they may not be shown if the women is comfortable doing so in an area where a man's bare chest would be accepted. If the excuse for not allowing it is because men might get aroused, then men need to learn to see women less as sexual objects made for their pleasure and more as people.

  • Of course. It is about time the US got over the weird worry about seeing boobs.

  • I think it's fine, only reason it wouldn't be is because of sexual predators and jealous, overly protective girlfriends/wives.

    • I could see how it's demeaning though too... if it goes too far.. men end up seeing an unwelcome boob too many 😂

  • I think it’s a silly movement to spend time and energy on but voted E.
