What precautions do you take to prevent STDs on hookups?

Don't have sex with idiots. Most people if they think they might have caught something will desist from sex and seek treatment. People who come across as not too bright are usually the type who ignore the burn when they pee. To put into perspective ringworm (not a std) is very common here and most people avoid sex until it clears.

If I'm hooking up with someone new, I always use a condom, I ask if they're clean, and sometimes if it's going to be a reoccurring casual thing, then I'll ask they get tested.

I don’t do hookups, nor will I ever, but i would think regular testing on both ends should be required. And despite liking raw, condoms should also always be used because I personally wouldn’t just trust a stranger’s word in the heat of the moment.
