Why some men think that prostitutes own them a thing?

A prostitute also can reject you, if you are a disrespectful or a piece of shit or for any reason.

  • Because some men equate paying for a prostitute/escort as to owning them for however long you pay for.

However the correct way to think is your paying a person for there time and they are granting you the pleasure of sharing an intimate time together.

Anyone in a service industry is still a person with there own likes/dislikes and feelings be they working in a call centre like I do or if they are a prostitute/escort and too many people overlook this fact.

    • This brings up an interesting side point. Is the prostitute under any obligation to think that her client is also a person with feelings, likes, and dislikes who is paying her hard earned money to perform a service? Should prostitutes show any respect or courtesy to their clients, provided the clients do the same? Some prostitutes feel nothing but contempt for virtually ALL their clients.

  • Some men are just clueless idiots with an IQ of a rock

  • Why would they even think that?

  • The disrespect and outright abuse they get from the brothels and pimps worries me much more than the disrespect from potential clients. There's quite a bit of psychological damage done to those who become prostitutes. In places where it's illegal, it's very dangerous. In places where it's legal but unregulated, it's less dangerous, but not much so. Only in places where it's legal and regulated is it remotely a viable way to make a living.

As to why *some* men (And why is it so hard to write the word "some?") believe prostitutes owe them (and I believe "owe" is the word you're searching for, not "own") a thing, well in some cases it's because they've paid for a service. If you pay for a service, you have a right to expect to receive that service PROVIDED YOU ARE NOT ABUSIVE OR DISRESPECTFUL TO THE SERVICE PROVIDER. As to those who believe they are owed service when the prostitute rejects them before payment was ever received, or they are owed service when they are abusive and disrespectful to the prostitute, I think the reason they think this is because they're jerks.
If the prostitution industry disappeared from the face of the earth, I wouldn't really weep.
If you don't mind me asking, what's your primary language?

    • I'm also curious what doc you watched. I'm wondering if it is the same one I watched. The conditions for prostitutes in India, where it is illegal but unregulated, are very saddening.

    • Sorry, I meant *legal* but unregulated

  • Because prostitutes sell their bodies. In our minds, we attach capitalism with objectivity. But because the object in question is apart of the prostitutes humanity, boundaries are often misconstrued. The level of respect for the business itself is low since now they don’t even have respect for you as a person. They think putting a tangible value on your body exempts them from basic empathy and understanding of right and wrong. They’re not going to rob a liquor store not only because of the possible consequences but because they’ve been socialized to view stealing is wrong.
But obviously they aren’t going to think rape, coercion, pressure, or just being deceitful by not paying them the agreed amount is wrong since they assume that both your business and your humanity have no standards outside of money.
The fact that you have a mind and heart with feelings no longer matters. You are an object that most consumers not will genuinely respect. You are free to everyone’s entitlement no matter how high you set the price.

Personally, I find this perspective and way of thinking extremely disgusting toxic.

    • I mean you can think it is morally wrong but I dont think it is ethical to harm, hurt disrespect by insulting the sex workers is wrong. Anyway they would reject such customer. I have watched a documentary and a sex worker told that she denied the customer because of his disrespectful behaviour hahah

    • I was explaining why sex work consumers have an entitled mentality

  • She is selling her body & emotions by sexual pleasures to random people.
So enough money shld bring her in!
She is no normal to be treated as special.

    • No, she can deny your money

    • If you act like shit

    • But she is the actual shit! I dont know why they feel soo privileged. (I never used them)

  • Just like any other business the business owner has the right to refuse service

  • yep after all, their body their choice

  • Who ever said that?

However, there's this notion that some men have that because they pay, the woman/girl in question, must do whatever they say... which frankly, is not how it works lol.

Pay or not, she may still set boundaries and such. But this is something not all seem to understand

  • They don't.. The only time something is owed is when money has exchanged hands...

  • Well as long as that prostitute gives a full refund back... yeah she doesn't owe him anything. But if she refuses and still refuses to give him back his money. Then yes, she does owe him. Absolutely.

  • Exactly. They have a right to refuse business. Wouldn't that be more of a business.

  • Just because they are paying for sex doesn't give them a right to disrespect or abuse them. Its a job that's all..

  • May I ask how this comes to your mind?

  • This is true.

  • Could you be a bit more specific please? Give an example of what you're talking about.

    • I watched a doc in which the escort said that one customer insult her and get angry for getting kicked out

    • What do you mean for getting kicked out? What happened?

    • The customer insulted and disrespected her out of nowhere and she then rejected him

  • sure they can but they never do
