Backpacking tents are light weight and easy to carry. Given that, why would two guys not want to carry their own tents?

Depends on the type of camping you are talking about. If its car camping and they aren’t going out that far there is nothing wrong with one tent per person. If they are backpacking or otherwise limited in how much gear they can carry… well, I sure as fuck ain’t carrying anything that I don’t need to.

One unless you are so insecure about your masculinity that you'd rather carry unnecessary weight. What's the issue? Two tents if one person snores badly, but earplugs are a lot lighter. If you chronically beat off then for sure have separate tents, unless you both are gay and adventurous.

If at least one of them is straight then two tents. No straight guy will want to share a tent with another guy unless it’s absolutely necessary. Even worse would be sharing a sleeping bag. 🤢🤮

On my bible study retreat, all of us guys shared a cramped room with multiple bunk beds. It was really bad. The snoring, the high temperature and the smell of farts didn’t let me sleep. I had to go sleep in the dining room😂🤣.

Usually 2 tents. I guess it depends on the size of the tent, and whether or not they want to split the gear up differently though.
