  • Voted on behalf of my girlfriend. She does - and for that matter I do - not understand this mania for shaving.

    My girlfriend likes natural. In fact, one time, thinking it was the fashion, I decided to surprise her and shaved everything. Armpits, chest hair, pubes, legs.

    She was surprised all right. She hated it. She said it made me look like a little boy and made her feel like a child molester. As she so eloquently phrased it - "She wants a man who looks and smells like a man." Ouch!

    Anyhow, it's okay with me. All that shaving was a lot of work. I grow a beard in the winter months but shave in the spring - probably this week coming up - and go clean shaven in spring and summer. That is all the shaving I need. Besides, I am not comfortable with a razor that close to my manhood and the family jewels.

    Besides, when she is feeling cutesy my girlfriend will refer to me as "her furry little bear." I actually like it and so furry little bear I am and furry little bear I shall remain.

  • The hair on your body has been placed for a number of very good reasons. Among them are:

    1. protection from dust
    2. protection from bacteria
    3. cooling of the skin and blood

    I fail to see why anything should be removed that has a purpose just because of trivial things like aesthetics, which is so very subjective.

    Those that shave or wax their body parts are the first ones to replace this natural protection with chemicals like suntan lotion when going into the sun. Where is the logic behind that?
