The cause was that person's decision. To preface, you are not at fault, but it would be silly to say that your attire did not influence that person's decision, but again, that does not mean it is your fault. The person who made the decision at fault. You can look at it this way, it's not your fault that someone stole your computer, but when you leave your computer unattended at a library while nobody else does, you're inclining thief to steal your computer specifically.
