  • I don't understand this obsession over jawline, considering that your jaw isn't the end-all be-all for having a masculine face or being attractive. I understand why guys consider jawline as a factor in being attractive, but they act like it's the only sole determining factor in everything. This is false.

Just like men can have a non-prominent jawline and still be masculine or attractive, women can also have prominent jawlines and also be feminine or attractive. Jawline is not very sexually dimorphic at all, and it's a matter of proper development and genetics rather than sex hormones and sexual dimorphism that determine jawline prominence.

In fact, women with more prominent jaws tend to look more feminine because it makes their skull look gracile, especially since they have smaller, less broad craniums than us. The ones with less developed, retruded jaws look more masculine because it makes their cranium look bigger and broader in comparison to their jaws.

  • No, it is not possible for such a man to be physically attractive.
A weak jaw on a man is a genetic defect.
As a matter of reproductive instinct, women are repulsed by genetic defects.
That defect can be the result of close (incestuous) breeding. To support that, I offer the classical undershot jaw, bug eyes and occasional case of haemophilia in the European royal house of Habsburg, who married their first and second cousins for centuries.
If you look at Britain's Princess Anne and her brother, Charles, they have stereotypical Habsburg faces.

    • It's actually not a genetic defect for the most part, it's a developmental defect. Not getting enough nutrition and not using proper posture causes improper growth and development of the jaws and face, with the teeth often not having enough space to grow straight. I can attest to this because my development was so bad, that I had no visible jawline at all 2 years ago. But then I started taking massive amounts of vitamins and expanding my upper maxilla with brute force using my thumbs, and my lower jaw was able to come forward due to the increased upper jaw space. Now I have a normal facial profile. Nothing like a supermodel, but I at least have a jawline now.

  • Yes. I’ve noticed most guys with weak chins and jawlines grow out their beards and this can help dramatically and make them look a lot better looking. For example, Scott Disick. Google him with and without a beard- total transformation. Also, charisma and charm means a lot to women. If you have the charisma and charm, you can be attractive no matter how u look. For example, this super famous Bollywood actor sharukh khan has millions of female fan girls yet has a weak jaw and chin and on top of that, a big nose. But his charisma and charm attract so many women and he’s actually even more popular than a lot of conventionally good looking stars. So my advice for guys with weak jaws and chin, grow out a beard and make sure it’s styled properly and see if it improves your looks. But above all, be confident and charming and you’ll have no issue wooing women.

    • What exactly does “charming” mean?

    • @Kaazsz you carry yourself well and have a charismatic personality.

  • Yup. Plus I heard once that women instinctively tend to see one as sexually more attractive and the other romantically more attractive. What I heard is that strong jaw line men inspire women casual sex but they usually are not seen as trustworthy for serious relationship while soft jaw men are more frequently as someone who could be a father for their kids and for serious relationships. Of course these might have many variables. But I also heard that some women might be more attracted to a jawline or another depending on what time of their menstrual circle they are.

    • So basically you just want to use them as a last resort after you're done slutting around all of your youth.

    • @Ihatesociety00 Are you a troll or just too young? What a way to jump into conclusions! I'm describing something I heard from a sociologist, NOT what I feel or what I do. I'm in a commited relationship for 4 years and I have no interest in casual sex at all. I have always felt more interest in commited relationships. So you could guess guys with softer jawlines, and cute face have normally catches more my attention based in what I shared.

  • Based on your bizarre poll options: Yes. Ha.

  • It's possible. Jawline is only one physical characteristic, and everyone has something about them that is not the ideal societal standard of "perfect". It doesn't make them unattractive.

  • I think so my mom married my dad. Now they use orthodontics at an early age to pull the jaw out. I have a weak chin too.

  • It's definitely possible. His jawline isn't the only factor that can determine how physically attractive he is.

  • Sure why not... he may be great in bed for all you know!

  • There is beauty in being unique

  • Not possible

  • Grow a beard or goatee that will work wonders

  • Just like how a woman with a strong jaw line can be attractive.

  • A strong jaw and a 90° neck angle is essential for a guy to look physically attractive as it shows he has more testosterone and is fit

    • Just lol at thinking jawline has anything to do with testosterone. I've seen men built like a fridge as wide as a doorframe who probably blast 10 times the maximum medical reference range of testosterone as well as a bunch of man-made androgens. Yet, they didn't have stupidly prominent jawlines. In fact, their wide neck and traps made them look like they didn't have a jaw.

    • @Ihatesociety00 well whatever the reason, a strong jaw on guys looks more attractive than a weak jaw. That's just the way it is.

    • @neilsmart True, you're definitely right about that. A strong jaw is important for looking attractive. It's actually attractive for both sexes too. Most women that I have found the most attractive or that most find attractive have well developed jaws.

  • I'd say it might be possible. It depends on the rest of what he looks like

  • Definitely

  • Yes, it's just a less built face, which is not a bad thing

  • Yeah, just like it’s possible for a girl with a strong chin/jawline to be attractive.

  • Yup. Tbh, everyone has a different feature that can be attractive. So focus on those if you like. Men in general can do simple workouts with small weights. As dumb as it sounds, it can be worth the smiles you get.

  • If you have enough money, girls don't care WHAT you look at. Beauty standards are strictly for poor men.

  • Obvs not

  • Possible, not possible, possible, not possible

  • Of course, it is. I think the whole is greater than that little detailing. Harmony in style, hygiene, values and character are beyond the chin.

  • Yes for sure... and even if a woman doesn't like weak jawlines, she might like something else about you a lot. Jawlines aren't everything

    • polish men got weak jawlines,

    • @NatalieKeller95 I am polish and I have a well-defined chiseled jawline. How do I know? I have been told that. It has a lot to do with not being a fat butt too. When you hit 7% bodyfat, that jawline comes out.
