Why do men get grossed out by period sex?

My ex would refuse to touch me or even be the littlest bit intimate with me when I was on my period. At first I understood and respected that but it soon got to the point where I would feel insecure and even terrified to ask for such a thing from him. I realized that he was a bit to immature to see past that.

Now that I’m out of the relationship, I’m sleeping with a friend of mine and the same issue is coming up with period sex. We were planning on hooking up but then I got a sign that I might be on my period. I told him this and he just completely dipped on our plans and said “let me know when you’re done”.

Ngl, I feel really insecure just like how I did with my ex. Almost as if I’m dirty for being on my period. I know this ain’t the case and it’s a normal for women but I just can’t help but feel that way.

I guess I just want to know what other people’s opinions are on this and what would you do in my position.

I honestly have never met a man who cared all that much. My first time I suggested not doing it because it was messy not because I thought it was gross (blood stains, it would be hard to clean up etc.). That lasted all of five minutes (because you know, I was horny), then it looked like I murdered some one with my dick and we laughed about it.

I can see however why some one would be against it if they didn't live alone (because you need to clean up afterwards and that could be awkward walking to the bathroom with your genitals covered in blood if others live with you) but beyond that I have not cared and I don't know of any one who has. This is odd to me.

I have found that women are grossed out by period sex much more then men. You should be having more sex, not sitting on the bench for a whole week each month. At the cost of making a little bit of a mess, you get free lube, crazy good orgasms, and you typically don't have to worry about getting pregnant. I think it can even be helpful with cramps.

Lots of people, men and women, are put off by blood. Why would you want to force a guy to have sex during your period and make a big bloody mess?

More importantly, why is it that women seem to believe men should "embrace" menstruation just because it's natural? Poop is natural. Pee is natural. Vomit is natural. Flatulence is natural. Why would you want any of those things to be part of sex just because they are natural?

Men should "embrace" menstruation as part of sex in the same way you women should embrace a good fart at dinner.
