I have never met anyone who would prefer masturbation over sex unless they had an issue: either physical in a sense of nerve damage and requiring stimulation their partner can't / won't give, or men who've survived child sexual abuse or rape at the hands of women almost universally have trust and anxiety issues, essentially what is tied to pleasure is also tied to feelings of terror.
