there is a reason this is common and it isn’t our “ego”, it’s women’s inability to separate emotion from sex.
Women will say they can but in the majority of cases (unless she is mentally fucked up) the oxytocin released during sex will make her emotionally attached to the other male. While the men will just have the sex as sex and the only chemical release is dopamine which is the pleasure chemical.
