  • Because we are recently really open the LGBTQ community and it's a safer environment for people to want to be transgender in America.

  • Most of the transgender population is male-to-female too, isn't it? I find that interesting. I could think of a few reasons a 20 year old guy in America would rather be a 20 year old girl in America

  • Are there? Google says that the Williams Institute estimates 0.6% of adults identify as trannies. That's not exactly a huge percentage...

    • Apparently the same organization estimated it at 0.3% a different time and then said they really have no idea what the real number is because they think a lot of trannies are homeless. So reading that I’d assume those people are prostituting their butthole to gay men.

    • They asked maximum 1000 people.. Just because it shows that 0.6% of 1000 Americans are transgender doesn’t mean 0.6% of the WHOLE Americans are transgender.

    • Obviously. Thus why I questioned it right off the bat and then was like hmmm where did these numbers come from and then dug a little more and ran into the same organization pushing different numbers and admitting they really have no clue.

  • This is a very sensitive subject and I hope not to offend anyone, plznot that it is not my intention, but people who are transgenders are, in my opinion, people who have difficulty to accept who they are, and in today's society we are constantly being brainwashed into wanting to be better in body and personality. In other words, welcome to the world of marketing, where your desires are being controlled to make us consume as much as possible.

    • I’m not sure about the numbers but the percentage is like 5% or 6%

    • I just did a little Google search and most numbers I found were more around 0.6% and only some said up to 3%. But anyway, one issue with comparing such statistics internationally is that in many countries the statistics aren't very reliable. A country like Russia for instance, that is notoriously anti-LGBTQ+, very likely doesn't want anybody to know what their real percentage is. Hell they probably don't even want to know these numbers themselves!
