Would you be nervous to visit a place who makes it mandatory to check your temperature before you enter?

I mentioned going to the casino and a lot are checking temps with this phone app before you can enter. On some days, my tits, tummy, and thighs feel burning hot (long before Covid hit) so I’m like dang lemme pop a couple tylenols first 🤣 im just afraid ima set that thang off haha. Would you feel nervous about getting your temp checked in front of a line fulla people? Ever tried app?

So i went. #1 they had every other machine closed. However, when u walked in, they didn't check temp like advertised on the news. They had a sign sayin IF YOU HAVE COVID SYMPTOMS DO NOT ENTER. They then asked one by one if u had it. Lmao wtf do u actually think money hungry gamblers are gonna be honest. I lysoled every machine then wiped it with a germ killer wet wipe. Then i used germex. I think i broke one touch screen machine after spraying it 😂 they served drinks and not everyone wore masks

  • Nah, I get my temperature taken at my job daily (I'm always around 97.2-97.5 range). It's not a big deal.

No, if anything, that shows they're taking the necessary precautions and trying to keep you safe: that's a GOOD thing! My job screens our temperature daily, for us and the patients coming in. If you have a fever or flu like symptoms, you cannot come in.

The only issues I have with taking temperatures is:
    1) They're not always accurate depending on the thermometer they use.
    2) You can still have covid and not show symptoms.
    3) It's summer time, meaning it's going to be hot outside. If you get your temperature taken after walking around outside, it definitely won't be accurate! That's a problem we're dealing with at my job now. It's in the 90s down here and people are hot and sweaty- we're having to let them cool off a few minutes before taking their temperature to make sure it's accurate-ish.

If you do go, just be sure you wear a mask and wash your hands after touching all those machines.

    • I’d wear mask and gloves and have my travel size lysol spray and wipes lol. Im tryna spray all machines and the air around me haha. Im a germaphobe but miss the casino. Also, whats a good temp to have? My temp hasn't been taken since like age 12

    • @Dizzydesii ditto of @cynicaldreamer she beat me to this answer and actually she is the right person to answer this query and @cynicaldreamer wish you good health👍

    • Hang on, let me give you, and anyone else reading this comment a friendly disclaimer about gloves: DON'T WEAR GLOVES OUT IN PUBLIC. They are not effective against corona!!! All you're doing is spreading MORE germs by touching multiple surfaces with them. We don't even allow our patients in the hospital with them anymore. Even disposable gloves. You're much better off using wipes or hand sanitizer if you have some. As for a good temperature to have? Anything under 100.4F is fine (that is considered a fever). At 99-100, you might be considered feverish. Most adults are in the 97-98 range.

  • As much as I like to gamble, and girl we'd probably have a blast at a casino together, maybe now is not the best time to go. Even tho, wouldn't like it, maybe they can weed out anyone with temp from spreading whatever they're ill with. But I still think I'd be Leary going till see if more cases emerge as more places reopen.

    • Yea i wasn't gonna go day 1 but its been 3-4 days now lol

    • You sound like my mom 🤣 she been buggin cuz the casino here closed and hasn't reopened yet and they haven't yet given date when they plan to

    • Did you have any luck 🤔

  • Nervous, NO! OFFENDED, YES!! Temperature is NOT a RELIABLE measure of infection with Corona!! People with seasonal allergies might have elevated temperatures, or pregnant women, or people that just 'RUN HOT' with too much sugar in their system, and Thermogenisis!! Basically, some process calories and generate heat, rather than storing them as fat.
Also, in many places, many studies, temperature did not indicate infection, when some were infected and contagious!
So many Civil Rights, and personal MEDICAL, HIPAA Medical Privacy rules being violated, and many, many law suits will follow!!

    • Oh damn

  • Dumb or not & I know a lot of people don't believe me but I honestly do live in a Place like this in Mass, Check my take for why it & homeless people are the forgotten people, as a matter of fact, the nursing home is worse than being homeless because you're locked away & forgotten about. & CORONAvirus makes it worse because you really have no freedom & they come around & take your temp & Oxygen Level three times a day.

    • Holy smokes

  • Nope, our daycare does it everyday, the doctors office when we go. While it’s not exactly effective for Covid if you have a fever your body is fighting an infection... that in the current climate no one needs to pass on

    • Thats true

  • I'd feel safer at a place like this cause there is a lower chance that a sick or infected person would visit the store - right now - people consider safety even more than price when they buy stuff

    • True

  • I think it is a good thing and do think it is something that will be going on for quite some time to come.
I doubt the burning fire between your legs and titties would affect a temp check at your forehead.

    • Lmao 🤣

  • Well I'm I'm hot blooded, check it and see
I've got a fever of a hundred and three
Come on, baby, do you do more than dance
I'm hot blooded. I'm hot blooded.

Well I'm I'm hot blooded, check it and see
I''m really ready for your covi-19
Come on babe, I know you're hot for romance
I'm hot blooded. I'm hot blooded.

    • Is this a song lol

    • Hot Blooded is an old song by a band called Foreigner. The first verse I shared was actual. I made up the second one just to be sarcastic.

    • I love Foreigner but dont know that somg

  • I think it's a reasonable accommodation to provide for public health.

    • @olderandwiser Even though it is well-documented that a lot of people that are infected have no elevated temperature? Seems like an unreliable measure for reasons I previously posted, and just another personal rights violation, and if they record the result, perhaps a HIPAA violation, depending on how they hold those records. Does it REALLY help? Does it really matter? Or is it just a "Feel Good" thing to do, when nobody really knows what to do?

  • Because it's policy

    • Not everywhere

    • It's not policy in the majority of the country. Infact I've never seen anything like that anywhere I've been and I've been to several states during this stuff.

    • In society there is majority and minority and unfortunately no matter what that will not change. It's a matter of experience knowledge and exposure

    • In what direction does public opinion in the USA evolve? Towards things like social distancing, temperature checks and mouth masks where distancing is not possible? Or towards "I don't give a s..."?

  • I wouldn’t care

  • I'm confused. What on earth? Why would they be checking your temperature before you entered?

    • To see who comes in with fever

  • No. But I also wouldn't be going to a place that I didn't have to go right now.

  • No unless they have no reason to check it

    • There are other illness then other Corna that have High Temps as a sympthem

    • True

  • Nope

    • Alright

  • I drive for a Courier Service. It is mostly medical specimens. My informal count is 100 covid19 specimens so far. I have my temp taken up to a half dozen times a day. Hard to be nervous.

    • Oh wow

  • I’d feel more comfortable with the check but not comfortable enough. No way I’d go to a casino right now.
