Man seemed to know their manly stuff, their penises are their joy, but like everything else people in the world have preferences... so man usually want their partners to like what they see and would always question whether they can please their partners or not. So to reasure themselves they would want feed back from their partners or have some sort of clue of how their partners react once the intimacy is over. So yes man would be insecure about their penises until they have reassurance that all is good when their parners give them the thumbs up or thumbs down, its a risk guys gave to take. But some guys are very confident on themselves which its a good healthy way of them knowing that they are unique in their own special way, and know thats how god made them and to accept what they were born with it. Some men are insecure about their penis size because having a small penis is often considered an undesirable characteristic. Because of that, some men might believe that entering a lasting relationship would be hopeless. Many women also claim that they prefer bigger penises and some would even break up with and/or shame a man when they discover that his penis is small. Because these men don't want to be the subject of ridicule, leave their partner unsatisfied, desire lasting relationships, and don't want to be shamed for their penis size, some men are insecure about it.

Same reason girls are insecure about their butts, boobs, thighs, hips, lips, nose, etc. They see things on social media and what they assume to be perferred and when they think they dont make the cut, they get upset.
