So there's a BDSM fetish of either being hunted, or hunting. It's also called "fox hunt" or "Predator/prey" and I am sure many other terms. Anyway I know people who enjoy both sides of the hunt who are both men and women (honestly I think I know more women who enjoy hunting then men) so this isn't a gendered thing.

Also I make fetishy adult video games. My current build is a fox hunt, both players are dropped into a random maze, from the hunters perspective it looks like a standard first person shooter, from the preys perspective it's still first person, but no weapons. And a timer goes off...

Anyway. My, adult, son thinks I may have gone too far. Something about shooting unarmed naked people may not sit well with certain types. I see it as a fetishy game, that is pretty harmless, especially as you can make either player AI. And when I floated the idea to my other fetish type friends, they were all excited. But... I don't know how it'll come off to the rest of the planet. So have I gone too far this time?

On one hand, it’s just a game that will only appeal to a smaller niche market.

On the other hand, it plays into the fantasy of hunting people down or stalking them and then maiming or even murdering them for sexual gratification. I wouldn’t want this to potentially give people ideas, especially those with psychopathic tendencies.

What's not clear in your post is how graphic the game is, not only in regards to a sexual nature, but the extent of the violence

I assume the weapons are not meant to kill the prey? This is a little extreme for me, but I don't see the harm in it. I would check it out just for kicks

Honestly hadn't gotten that far yet. I build veey realistic games, and I may make this VR. The prey is certainly anatomically correct, and move very much like real people. Based on motion capture of real people walking, running, etc. It would feel very real, in that fortnight, PUBG sort of way.

I think people will react poorly if it’s suggesting you’re killing naked people for sexual pleasure. How much would the fantasy be ruined if they were using a tranquilizer dart gun?

You could also do some ass covering (and perhaps even some good) by having some clear message and a link to more saying “this is a fantasy, here’s some good Bdsm resources. Here’s how consent works properly and here’s how to watch out for abusers using Bdsm as a cover.”
