Did George Floyd resist arrest?

... you decide... this video for some reason was not out with the earlier videos. Is he resisting, inebriated and so unable to coordinate his body functions to walk? I'm thankful he did not drive the car.

So the conclusion by this jury... he resisted arrest... not unanimous though. The point and only value in this is... whatever is leading to this behavior, needs to be fixed. That will avoid a lot of the reason we all have to waste our energy on this issue. Remove the cause of the issue on both sides.

  • well he was having a cardiac arrest and probably couldn't get up to get out of the car (or he was probably resisting, which tbh really doesn't matter now) the officer dragged him to the ground put his leg on his neck while he couldn't breathe then guess what? He died, and the act of the officer putting his foot on Floyd's neck was not part of his training (And it should never be) So now if y'all still questioning has he resisting or not, it really doesn't matter. Even if he was resisting, he was in handcuffs without any weapons and the act of the officer who put their fucking foot on his neck was clearly unnecessary

    • ok i just found out it is allowed for police officers to put their foot on somebody's neck in Minneapolis wtf

    • thank you for thinking very rationally. I understand that as well... and other places was legal and other people (white) died from it. I agree something was wrong with him, he was not functioning right, the drugs and maybe covid? and lack of breathing. breathing in the upper chest while someone is compressing... that will cause death. the issue matters to the rest of us. avoid resisting arrest. don't expect cops to be super patient and understanding. society needs retrained to respond to police better. noone is talking about what cops can do to control someone. I'm fine banning knee to neck, but that means more risk to officers in some scenarios. easy solution is hookup Oxygen sensor to customers fingers and if hear it going wrong direction, adjust techinique. officer must be responsible once control maintained.

    • tbh you can't just excuse police for being shitty. And for sure nobody should be in fear of being killed by the police any minute because they were poorly trained.

    • Show All
  • I've said all along the police are always going to follow proceedure to the letter when handling blacks because they know there's millions of people out there with camera phones. This was nothing more than a poorly training cop with bad technique and a guy in poor health, a tragic combination but not a racist attack.

    • You are becomming the shining star for answering questions. Training may be part of it but I see... sociopath... that is... he doesn't care. Can't train a heart into someone. I suspect he was stressed out and sick of humans...19 years of this crap takes a toll.

  • "resisting arrest" is just the standard police bullshit. that doesn't even have to do with racism at all. that's just standard operation. they pretty much always get away with that except in those cases where the entire world has their eyes on them.

    • the videos show behavior, that is not BS, that is girlfriend's behavior making life difficult for them. they just want to take him in and process him and see him go otu the other side of the jail like most people do. that's the cat/mouse game. Don't make the cat mad is one solution to avoiding suffering. Doesn't work in every case.

    • i wasn't commenting on that situation. i really don't care about george floyd. i'm just saying that whether it was the case or not, the police will always get away with "resisting arrest" arguments. except if they bloody murder the people that were "trying to get away", then they will have to put evidence that this was necessary.

  • Nothing justified kneeling on his neck. And I'm a Trumper.

    • Was a trained, acceptable practice in that area and others is my understanding. It's been used to kill others.

  • Whether he resisted or not, kneeling on the neck is inexcusable.

    • Trained technique. May not like it, but the mayor and council and police department at the time approved. I don't agree with it either. Multiple people killed using knee to back/knee.

  • Why is this posted in 'SEXUALITY' ?

    • oops!

  • Who cares? The cop is still a murderer. Nothing can justify his actions. Floyd wasn't a real threat in that situation, especially not after being handcuffed.
