Of course, why would someone's sexual preferences hinder friendship. One of my dearest friends is butch. I love her dearly. When people see us out they assume we are a couple manily because she looks like a man. Let me reiterate, we get looks because we live in a tiny southern town in the bible belt in the US, she's black im white and she looks like a man so people immiedatly judge us. They can give us hate looks all they want, it just shows how backwards they are.

People sexuality doesn't change anything, you are friends with some people and they can be gay, bi, pan, trans, asexual... but that doesn't define them, it is just who are they attracted to
I've had a roommate who was gay, a roommate who was bi, a suitemate who was gay, and a suitemate who was discovering his sexual orientation (he was straight, gay, and bi during the year I knew him).
