How do u turn feelings off?

Basically I'm in love with this girl (first real love) and there isn't any sexual tension so it isn't gonna work. She says she loves me but i know it's as friends, this is all fine. The problem is that everything i do makes me think of her, this makes me smile and then i get this lonely feeling. Now I've felt lonely most of my life and between u and me, 'wispers' I don't like it. It's annoying and it makes me feel like shit. The only "cures" i know is getting smashed with friends or having a shag with one-time friends

You can lose the feeling if you are willing to lose her as a friend. Pretend she is dead to you from now on. As long as you are with her , these feelings will keep coming back since this is one sided and you will suffer on a daily basis. She will find a boyfriend and you will have to watch it and even support her

A friendship between a guy and girl can only work if there are no romantic feelings involved.

Either find a new love and be with her , or distance yourself from her asap. Otherwise you are in an eteranal state of torture

Wel then that's my burden to bair, i just refuse to abandon her like that. It's just until i fall for someone else anyways, I'll never stop loving her i know that. But that doesn't mean i can't love someone else also. It's not even that it hurts all the time just some times but i know she cares about me, I don't have many people that i can say that about. So aslong as she keeps being this wonderful person i know I'll keep her safe, I'll make her smile.. even if it's just for a little while. Tnx for your advice Anyways

well thats cool and thats your call to make. Just dont expect anything in return from her. Maybe she will like you someday but thats just a possibility , dont think it will happen for sure. Keep looking , keep your options open

Yeah I'm not hoping not expecting anything from her, it wouldn't be healthy. Something doesn't need to happen, I'm good with her company alone. Just want something that makes me stop thinking of her when ever a song pops up. Like u said, I'm keeping my options open

if you’re not willing to do that, you’ll find yourself forever bound until the day you accept that she’s not yours.

alternatively you can try and make her yours but it’s your decision, weigh them out.

You will eventually become numb to feelings towards females, just in time for these same females to get past their prime and start looking desperately for a male to get them through their not so prime years.
