  • Sure but what would be the point? The idea behind gay pride is raise awareness about LGBTQ and you know, give them pride? 😂 Thereā€™d be no need for it because everyone knows straight people and stuff and also they arenā€™t shamed for being straight coz being straight is the norm?

  • Nope. Iā€™ve never heard of a law targeting straight people, nor discrimination from conservatives or the religious, I've never heard of someone being murdered for being straight or receiving a ā€œcorrective rapeā€ because they were straight.

  • I don't see a reason for it since straight pride is essentially everyday. In the end, they can do as they please. I won't demand they stop if they want to start one, but I sure as shit won't participate in it.

  • I never have a people fighting for their rights... That should just be a right for every person save murderers and rapists... If people have a problem with the word pride... Maybe it should be... Gay lives matter 🙂 or "too"🙂

  • Yeah except even accepting that those numbers are accurate (and I honestly doubt it), that still leaves 63% of all countries not making homosexuality illegal and the only nations that you have "gay pride" are the ones which have not outlawed it. So they are arguing that because some one else in a far away land that they don't know and have no intention of visiting, who's rights they have no interest in, are being persecuted, thats why they should have extra rights and privileges here, were they are experiencing none of those things. Thats moronic.

We need straight pride as much as we need gay pride which is to say not at all. But if it pisses off those who think its okay to weaponize discrimnation laws to hurt others and take more rights and privileges for themselves (as has happened in the gay community multiple times (and they don't call it out)), then I am all for straight pride. Otherwise I think its stupid because why would you ever be proud of something you don't have control over.

  • Why not? I mean, we have gay pride, why not straight pride. Fuck it, throw some aro pride in there too.

  • It was hard enough to give gay be one day a year. That's cause straight people had it 365 days a year.

  • No..

  • I think that if people want to celebrate their sexual orientation, they should be able to do that, whichever their orientation is.

Denying them the ability to do that and calling their reasons invalid is no different from denying non-heterosexual people the ability to get married and calling their unions invalid.

What straight people choose to do shouldn't concern the non-straight people.
And the non-straight people definitely shouldn't be getting pissy about it, if they don't want to come across as major hypocrites.

  • It would be nice to be supportive of the gay community but be allowed to celebrate being straight too

  • Like having pride in your self or a public celebration to let people know it's ok to be straight.

There is no need to let stright people to let others know it's ok to be stright as it is the status quo.

  • No. Nor should there be gay prides. Live and let live. Being proud of sexual orientation is stupid; straight or LGTBQ.

  • Nope

  • Nah it would be ridiculous

  • If you want to have a straight pride parade or organization do it, fuck anyone who disagree's with you it's right to have one if you want.

  • No I donā€™t. People arenā€™t being killed or battered for being straight.

    • It's illegal and wrong to be straight In my country, bisexualiy is the norm, they kill straight people In my country. #helpstraightpeople

    • And what country is that?

    • Carbombya

  • No, we don't need a straight pride. If we want to end persecution of any kind we need to stop being "proud" of our differences and instead be proud of those good things that can bring us together. So many people don't give a crap one way or the other about homosexuality vs heterosexuality. What they hate is getting an ideal they don't personally subscribe to rammed down their throats and being told that they have to accept it. Keep in mind that this is just my opinion and many will agree as well as disagree with it but it does come from a bi man who loves being in a sissy role at times

    • if it didn't come across clearly, I'm not sure upon reading my own comment so I'll make it sure here. I think that there should be NO pride events for anything, not gay pride, not straight pride, not black pride, not hispanic pride, etc, etc...

  • Talk about being entitled... ;P

  • No, and there shouldn't be a gay pride either. It's manipulative and designed to use people with non-standard sexualities as meat-shields for political power grabs. It will only make it harder for marginalized people to get the rights that they lack, in the places where they lack them.

  • Pride and rights have no correlation, and if gay people want equality, they'd be in support of having straight pride month. But few of them do, so it's entirelt apparent that accentuation is more important than equality to those people.

But if you ask me, I think it's silly to be proud of being gay (and I entirely support homosexuality). Being gay isn't an accomplishment. It's just how you naturally developed. You didn't work hard to win a medal at something, you didn't study hard to ace a test. It's kind of like someone being proud of winning the lottery. People should be proud of their accomplishments, not something they didn't have any control over.

  • Yeah i don't think so. The last thing i want to do is march in a parade. 😂

    • Don't they always have 'elephants" in parades

    • @Brainsbeforebeauty shhh shhh shhh *whispering from the side of my mouth* you said you wouldn't tell anyone. 😗

    • What lol you throw it out there all the time, I'm sure all of GAG has heard of your elephant trunk by now or seen it 🤣🤣🤣
