If you lived in the 1960s or 1970s, maybe they had more action.
If you lived in Paris in the 1920s, they might have had more action than even those in the 1960s.
If you lived in the 1700s and were the son of a lord on a manor, not too many maids could turn you down, so you'd have more action than a hippie a 1960s commune.

I think it's linked to peoples ability to travel, once the car became easily available to people we travelled further and had more sex.

Probably but about 100-150 years ago men had more authority over women and would have pushed for it a bit more I would think. Not saying it’s right but women may have been more submissive based on the way they stood in society.

Depends what you mean by "get laid".
Certainly men were more able to force attentions on lower class women in the past. Prostitution was probably more available, too.
However, enthusiastic participation by willing women might well have been a rarity.
