Voted "Yes," but not in a "notch on your belt" sense. Rather, in a different way that is less about conquest and more about instinct and sharing.

To start, I have only ever taken two women's virginity. The girl that I lost my own virginity to at age 16 - she was 15. That was everything a young teen guy goes through. Three steps I call it:

You start: 1) I'm a man!!!

2) I am so in love with that girl!!! We are going to get married some day and have babies and live happily ever after!!!

3) Oh my gosh!! What if I got her pregnant?

Suffice to say that I went through all three steps and my poor girlfriend at the time - who I dated till my Junior year in college - endured weeks of "have you had IT yet?" "IT" meaning her period.

(We got lucky. She was not pregnant - even though we had no protection. Funny part though, somewhere during that time I decided that if I was a Daddy, I would step up to the plate and stay with her and my child and be the best Dad I could be. It is an attitude - three out of wedlock children - that I have never changed.)

Anyhow, in that case - "notch on the gun" never really entered my mind. I was excited, I thought I was in love, of course I thought I was cool. However, hey, I was 16.

In the second case, it meant something to me that this woman was giving her naked body to me. In a weird sense allowing me to use her - and possibly get her pregnant. She was sharing herself with me and - far from being giddy and proud - I was sort of touched and humbled.

This beautiful woman was giving me herself and everything that she is to me. We were totally sharing and she was accepting the most elemental thing I had to give as a man.

Who knows? Maybe it was just how I felt about the girl. Maybe I was being silly. However, odd though it may be, that she was willing to give her virginity to me was beautiful and touching.

the hymen being an indicator of virginity is a myth. It’s not a fleece that is broken into during sex the first time, of course it’s not, how would tampons work? The actual hymen is a small edge inside the vagina, that yes, can tear, but this tearing can happen during any activity, from riding a bike to falling in an unfortunate way. It also doesn’t have to tear during the woman’s first time, and the chances of it tearing are lower when there is enough foreplay so the woman is relaxed enough, and wet enough or lube is used.

No, it isn't, I'm not under the mistaken impression that a girl's hymen is an impenetrable wall, but you're saying "either it's an impenetrable wall or it doesn't exist," when neither of those things are true. It exists, yes it is an indicator of virginity, if it wasn't then there wouldn't be pain for a girl whose hymen is still intact the first time she gets fucked (and most females who have their hymen intact at their first vaginal intercourse do report at least some pain). And yes, it can tear due to non-sexual activity, correct. Which has literally nothing to do with what I'm saying.
