What's your opinion on the Mia Khalifa VS BangBros situation?

CONTEXT: Mia Khalifa is a former pornstar and BangBros is a company in the sex industry who Khalifa previously worked for and BangBros are exposing Mia Khalfia for her (apparent) lies.

BangBros wrote "Although Mia makes many false statements, innuendos, and accusations, we have tried to stay silent and allow Mia to have her publicity stunt without responding. Mia has taken our silence as an "all clear" to not only continue but ramp up her false statements. We, therefore have no choice but to respond to the most glaring, objectively false statements. The following are facts over Mia’s fiction." on their new website dedicated to exposing Mia Khalifa for her claims and then presenting the truth.

Khalfia hasn't responded to any of this (yet). I guess it's easy to side with BangBros but as someone said in the comments section of that YouTube video * (can't fit in aaaa)

  • She's full of crap. She claimed to have only been paid $4,000 total, yet she shot around 40 scenes during her brief stint in porn. Does anyone believe that she was only paid $100 per scene? When the standard is $800-1500 per scene for new, no-name girls? Please.

    Plus, it's typical for porn companies to fly girls out (Bang Bros's production companies are out of Miami) and put them up in a hotel for the duration of their shooting, which is on top of their pay. They also pay for promotional work. Girls also typically do photo shoots in addition to the movies, and they get paid for those as well. Bang Bros's figures are believable when you factor in travel and lodging expenses plus pay, and she did a number of scenes for Score as well as Team Skeet.

    She was also 21 years old - a grown-ass woman, and more than old enough to understand the risks of porn and the fact that no matter how well the product sells or how many views it gets, the stars only get paid their shooting fee - they aren't owners of the product and they get no residuals. Porn has always worked that way.

    Finally, she's talking about all of her "views" - but most of those are on pirate sites like PornHub, which makes ZERO dollars for the studios. So, who cares how many views she gets - that has nothing to do with her pay or what she should be paid.

    It's no different from a band that signs a deal with a record company, who advances them half a million dollars, and promotes them, etc., but who also owns their music in perpetuity. No one forces those bands to sign those contracts - and they want the money and the fame - but then they realize later that it comes with a cost, and they no longer want to pay. Well, too bad - you signed the contract and you took the money - you have no legal leg to stand on.

    Mia wanted easy money, and she got it. Only later did she have to face the fact that it came at a price - a price she didn't want to pay. Well, too bad. You took the money and signed the contract as a 21-year-old adult - too damn bad. She could have gotten a regular job just like most people and paid her way that way, but she wanted the easy way out. I have little sympathy for her, and less when she's whining that "she's the best known porn star in the world" (such a narcissist, and I call bullshit on that anyway) and her videos have a lot of views and she didn't get enough money. Oh, boo hoo. Your choices have consequences. That's a valuable lesson to learn.

    • @Warrior_Nun Of course not. I'm not saying she's a rocket scientist, but she's certainly smarter than that! She's simply regretting her choices, and the consequences of those choices, but instead of taking personal responsibility for the choices SHE made, she's blaming everyone else. It's THEIR fault. Because there's no way she's going to accept the responsibility for her own decisions - that's crazy talk!

  • When you do certain things you must be foresight. If you are not foresighted, you pay the consequences for a long time. Bang Bros has made an excellent investment from which it continues to draw money, it is a company therefore it is its purpose. When she made the movies she was not a child, so she should have been able to understand that she would be self-branded.
    If customers feel cheated by Bang Bros because of old footage sold as new, well sue Bang Bros and ask them for damages for being cheated.
    However porn has always worked this way and no one has ever complained about it.

  • There's a great meme I would post but can't find it about her being taken seriously by the media for something other than porn and the interview is with the BBC.

    I dont get her problem, she was an adult who made an adult decision to do porn and made a dammed good living out of it but now years later regrets that decision because her movies are viral and unlikd ordinary prostitutes there's no escaping it. The thing is she as an adult who is entirely responsible for her own bad decisions and the consequences of them. She's not the first ex porn star that's tried to make a career out of being antiporn. Its well known that the consequences of doing porn is that until the day you die there will be a visual record of you having sex.

    • That's because in most states, personal financial records are private unless Mia makes them public, or initiates a lawsuit which would put them into evidence. Note that she isn't suing them, because she would lose. She's attacking them in "the court of public opinion" where there are few rules and where many people will blindly believe her.
