Ill sometimes get them and the second I felt that tingling on my lip I grabbed some black seed oil and dabbed it on there and did that a couple times a day and it didn't show up might have been a fluke but worth trying (it tastes and smells horrendous so try and mask it with something like lemon which is said to be good for cold sores)

If they are really cold sores then it’s herpes but since you get them every month that’s still possible that you get the outbreak at that time because of hormone change, there is something in the drugstore that freezes them up for awhile
Since it’s on your tongue you can apply that medicine on the spot and it freezes it, at least that is not herpes when it’s on the tongue, I get them but rarely
