You are right, it is "not fair". Every person was sexually inexperienced at some point in their life. I'm sorry, but he is just rubbing it in. Every person has their reasons for sleeping or not sleeping around. I am proud of you for not falling into the whole "meaningless sex" or "sex for sex's sake" mindset.
I can just imagine how much mental preparation you put in into this encounter. Now, your "partner" decided that you are not good enough. I had a similar personal experience.
