Seems like they love having the government to control other people bodies, sexual lives, what they can wear and can't wear, marriages, gender roles, what schools can teach and can't teach, etc

  • Assuming Government controls aren't enough, some choose religious beliefs that are even more controlling. Ask yourself, if those rule MAKE SENSE, before just blindly following them!
Some find comfort in rules, so they don't HAVE TO CHOOSE, because with choosing, they might make the wrong choice, and with Religious Rules, they don't have to choose some things, so it simplifies their lives.
I want the CHOICE!! I LOVE THE FREEDOM, in the US, TO CHOOSE!!!

  • ALL religions are man made! Made to control people. Kings have made religions forever for this purpose. Fear is the controlling factor. And money is also involved. ALL religions request you to give money to them. The deeper you look the more degusted you become of the truths about them ALL!

    • In other words, all religions are fucked up and backwards

    • YES! VERY FUCKED UP! Just to name a few things. Throughout Ireland and England Catholic nuns killed children of unmarried promissing to "take care of them" The mothers assumed this would mean foster them. Instead scienist have recently found massive graves of millions of children ranging from newborn to teens. Ending rumors with truth! The Catholic Church helped houndreds of Nazi soldiers escape Germany and helped relocate them to South America. Spanish soldiers robbed raped and killed everyone they came in contact with when taking over the "New World" These are just a couple of examples! Now for the good! Most people mistake Buddisim and Native Americans way of life a "religion" They are NOT! They are a way of life! Both and maybe others seem to be very healthy and holesome life styles.

  • Their religion teaches people must behave in a certain way. Incidentally I've always found those who bang on about freedom are the first to complain when people do something they don't approve of

    • This is why more people are becoming Atheists because religion has many backwards rules

  • I'm a libertarian because of my Christian beliefs. As I believe the struggle between good and evil is over man's agency.

    • How you can be a Christian and a libertarian' lol

    • Because they are actually quite compatible with one another; if you don't buy into all the super controlling stuff that came out of Catholicism during the middle ages, and is still floating around.

  • I'm religious and libertarian. Religious people like sex too. But as far as other things, you should be free to make your own stupid decisions just like I'm free to tell a person they are stupid for making such decisions. I love freedom!

    • How the heck you can be religious and an libertarian lol

    • @northwestrider The same way some atheists being conservative lol

  • Too much freedom can lead to sin. It always does.

    • But freedom is good and sins are not real

    • Well, sin is a good descriptor, does not have to do with God or religion. In my message it does not.

    • @northwestrider If sins are not real, why murder is illegal, why rape is illegal, why theft is illegal etc. ?

  • Don’t lump all religious people with those anti freedom evangelical assholes.

    • Name one progressive religion

  • True Christians will never impose their will on another... or judge them. Only God has the right to judge. Unfortunately, organized religion has some groups that have airs of superiority... most certainly not true Christians

    • You can find nutjobs in every religion who love controlling people lives

  • i'm an atheist but you aren't healthy

religion doesn't make people stupid or violent man, people make religion stupid and violent... as evidenced by the fact that you're an atheist but you're still a clueless small minded bigot

    • Why? Aren’t you atheists the most educated, intelligent, smart and omniscient people?

    • @hknmhmn4 frankly atheists are usually poor unhappy people i think. they're all starbucks employees and drug addict artists they're nihilistic losers usually

    • Not sure, all atheists I’ve met ever have been claiming that they are the most educated, intelligent, smart and omniscient people

  • I dont believe in extreme freedom. Because there are laws/rules, you can't kill someone, you can't rape someone, you can't committ theft, you have to wear masks during the pandemic, social distancing etc. so the government already controls people’s life

Also, the same way there are rules at the schools that were founded by the government

  • You are the most intolerant piece of shit on this forum. And I'm an atheist. Grow the fuck up little girl.

  • LOL... generalize much? I'm not religious but I know a lot of religious people and none of them are as you describe.

So can you please answer a question for us? Because all of us here on GAG are wondering about you by now. Why are you always so bitterly hateful? I mean it must really suck to be so saturated with that hate for people who are different than you, every day of your life. I mean yikes!

  • The woke crowd is not religious and they want to control all thought and speech

  • Some do some don’t. For the record I’m an atheist. But a major strain of US religious freedom at the level of government was pushed by those who wanted freedom to practice religion as they wanted and be away from the state controlled religions of Europe.

  • Because at its core religion is a system of control to control people. It's not about freedom it's about making mass groups behave in a way the leaders want it to.

    • I think the world will be better off without any religion
