I remember some creep in his early 30s try yo mess with me online when I was a young adult. Within 3 days he tried to see if he could groom me. If my late mother didn't see what was going on, and I didn't catch on to his sexual remarks afterwards, I would have been in trouble. I immediately cut him off, blocked and reported. He tried creating another account to harrass me, and once the admins found out, he stopped. It's not a joke. So it doesn't matter if you are of legal age or not. That doesn't give people any legal right to sexually harass a person.

Harassment, by definition, requires repeated action. He asked once and then didn't ask again for four years. That does not fit the definition of harassment. He also didn't know her age when he asked and then stopped talking to her immediately upon learning it. Having sex with (or attempting to) an 18 year old is not pedophilia. Depending on where he's from, it wouldn't be considered pedophilia if she was 16, as that's age of consent in most places. I'm sorry for your experience, but this very clearly wasn't one of those experience. He didn't attempt to groom her. He didn't speak to her until she was an adult.

Again, that is not the point. The moment that she had said that she is 14 that is for her to tell him to not bother because she is a. The point is he should not be speaking to her at all she does not want to be spoken to. It doesn't matter if you wait until a person is an adult or not. That person is not interested in a relationship, that is harassment. That is still considered harassment even if you never bought it reaching out for 4 years. He still reaching her now. He first ordered her to be his girlfriend & then asked her to verify her information relating to her age. He's talking to her as if he's on a wife ordering website (& that's not something people want). Even though it's legal, even if it was subtle and even if he wasn't aware of his actions, he should still be expected to know how to treat a human properly.
