It depends. I read interviews from prostitutes in a book freakonomics, one was a street hooker, she just wanted to finish the guy and get out without a fight.
The others were high class who left their careers for sex work, they want the money sure, but they enjoyed some clients that make them feel good or are good in bed. They also dislike some clients and fire them.
They are individuals in specific circumstances, one thing is for sure, they have sex with hundreds of men so if they say you were the best, it really is a huge compliment.

Porn stars on the other hand may actually just enjoy the attention and sex. Well that's what I'm assuming since it's the path they chose with their free will.

I guess some of them could be doing it for money. Maybe they didn't have access to college so they chose to do porn. Or maybe they thought doing porn is an easier way to make money than working a job.
