Let me ask you a question: Did you go to the bathroom after having sex? If the answer is no, then you might have a urinary tract infection. You can either go to the doctor for it or you can buy cranberry juice to help with it. But if you aren't sure whether it is an infection or not then just go to the doctor for testing.

An STD isn't the only cause for a burning sensation while urinating after sex. Among many others, there are two strains of bacteria known as 'Escherichia coli' and 'Staphylococcus saprophyticus', that are typically found in the gastrointestinal tract as a result of digestion, that can find their way to the uterus through the anus and lead to a UTI, or urinary tract infection. These bacteria account for about 80% of cases and are far more common to cause painful urination than STDs. If he took your V plates could just be your muscles/tissue adjusting, but sounds like it could be an infection. You don't have to have had sex to get an STI. Cold sores are part of the Herpes virus. It may just be cystitis, or a mild infection. It doesn't mean that either of you are 'dirty', just some bacteria got where it shouldn't. Go and see a Doc and they'll give you a quick swab and then you'll know for sure exactly what it is, get it sorted, back to banging your brains out and everyone's a winner.
