If my boyfriend 16 and age of consent is 16 how come people still say I can go to jail for it?

  • i mean, you can't, technically, but, like, at that point, if you're 30-35 and dating a boy, 16, they're going to wonder..

    also, the only other way of course would be the usual, accusations of date rape (rape of a boyfriend/girlfriend, someone you know), as opposed to a stranger

  • because parents can still get involved and until the person turns 18, parents are responsible for a child so if you have sex with a teenager and the parents find out and they dont like it, they can file legal charges on you for having sexual intercouse with a minor.
