Most of my mates and I had been going to bars in the UK since we were about 15ish anyway. And you only have to be 16 to buy tobacco, so we were sorted as no one ever really checks, and from what I can see, it's not much different today. Still in school, part time job at the weekends and staying at home rent free, so 18 was a bit of an anti climax! Nothing I could/would do that I wasn't already. You used to be able to drive at 17, though I don't know if that's gone up to 18 now, I think is has (as has tobacco, but that's no bad thing). Age of consent here for sex is 16 too, though again as long as you were the same age (within a year or two) it wasn't really 'policed' by parents - or not amongst my friends and I?
Honestly i didn't have it together at all at that age. I was still 2 months away from graduating high school. And to be quite honest graduating was my entire focus. I hadn't looked a minute beyond that.
Well actually when i turned 18 the gambling age was 18. Then a few months later it changed to 21. So i was able to gammble for a few months then it was ilegal again. Lol
Funny how laws work sometimes
On my 18th birthday I'm gonna get someone to buy me a bottle of whiskey and a big ass cake and I'm gonna down it in my bed, eat more cake, and weep about the fact that it only gets worse from here.
It was just another lovely birthday party with family and friends.

well foor my is was a plot to ruin my birthday lol, the day i turned 18 they made the drinking age 21 NOT 18 i felt like i was conspired against XD but when i turned 21 and tried my first taste of beer or liquor i got sick so it turned me off of it.

I didn't do anything special. It was just a day or a birthday - do not remember, whether there was a celebration by this particular birthday - like any other.
