But photos like this - and this by far not, at least because of the angle it looks nearly completely modest - the indicated vibe is not always desperateness.

I should add that this applies to more than just dating. Like try walking onto a used car lot looking desperate to get a car. Try going to a job interview looking desperate to get a job. Both put you in a bad bargaining position and open you up to be taken advantage up. It applies to a whole lot of things.
