BSDM is a huge thing mainly because it's made it's way to mainstream media thanks to movies like 50 shades of grey. Honestly, I like being dominated it's hot seeing my boyfriend take control people (especially women) who have to make a lot of decisions in their daily lives like to give up control in the bedroom, it's pretty normal actually besides pain and pleasure are both tied to your dopamine in the brain, promoting a pain-pleasure reward system in your brain, which explains why spanking is an extremely common kink with women

I like being choked, blindfolded and tied up in bed.
In my day to day life I hate being out of control, I don't like people taking control of my person (I scream when people pick me up), I don't like people coming up from behind me and touching me, I don't handle it well, and to me it shows a lot of trust in my partner. But other than that, I'm down to try once, but don't expect a repeat.

It’s always been around. But I think it’s because people become curious of it and are willing to experiment with it.

Then again, I doubt some would want to. If they were seriously physically punished a lot as a child.
