Should porn be banned?

Porn has been proven to have a negative impact on both genders, not to mention the exploitation and dangers of the industry.
pornography likes to hide behind the first amendment, saying they have the right to expression by Constitution. However, the Constitution was written long before porn was invented. Otherwise, I don't think it would be included

  • Yes, it should. As a former sex worker, the industry is an illusion. It lures girls in with big bucks (actually porn actresses don't make much anymore), but you are shunned by men, who just see you and treat you like a whore, so you can't have a real relationship.
Also, the time you spend in porn is time wasted where you could have went to college or had a real career.
Most girls in the industry are mentally ill or have drug problems. So actually, porn just takes advantage of the mentally ill and shouldn't that be a crime?
Sex crimes also come out of the industry. Pimps infiltrate strip clubs with their hookers and young girls can easily become sex trafficked victims.
And of course girls will tell you it's empowerment etc. But they are misled by the smoke and mirrors and the dangers outweigh the benefits.
So I'm sorry that it's so important for people to get off that they don't give a fuck about the girls or sex crimes. But I do, which is why I now support organizations against it

  • Porn should have been banned, prohibited and heavily fined since a long time.

We all know that porn is a total objectification, sexualization and exploitation of women. They are demeaned, lose their dignity and humiliated.

But as long as there is so much money to make on the back of women, nothing will ever happen because the law is powerless against rottenn and corrupt politicians that protect the mafia that bribe them to ensure that a law prohibiting pornography will never pass.

As a matter of fact, the permanent adjustment of the age of consent is progressively leading to a legalization pe****le contents. This is also thanks to the pressure of interest groups that keep lawmakers from efficiently fighting against that plague.

As long as the very top, the leaders of the political systems endorse and approves those practises, porn will soon become mandatory.

    • We found the Muslim or the Republican lol

    • There are definitely problems with porn however I think many women would be insulted at what you are saying. Many women want to have sexual freedom and there are many women that create content classified as porn where the creators are their own bosses or they don't earn anything at all but just think it's hot. This subject is much less black and white than you want to make it. I'm myself not a fan of industry made porn as there are many problems within it but there are genuinely women and men who think it's hot to post pictures or videos online and some that want to earn some extra for the effort. So banning it will be very difficult as many including women will be opposed to it. Also to ban porn will prove nearly impossible as they will never ever be able to shutdown websites for it. They struggle doing that with child porn which is a very small fraction of the world's people that like then imagine trying to stop it with hundreds of millions if not billions watching it. Prostitution is also extremely difficult to stop already too and I wish there was a good solution to it but I'm unsure I will live to see that happen.

    • Well I used to work for an all girl porn production company. Owned, acted, produced and distributed by women (I was the exception). I doubt those women were/are being programmed by the Illuminati. They LOVED it. I went to their house parties and clubs. This was women exercising their right to own and rule their sexuality.

  • No. I would argue it’s protected under artistic uses. Now while there are a number of workers who are exploited, they do not make up a significant amount of porn stars. And the thing is if your intentions is to stop exploitation, it would not make sense to ban porn. Instead a much better route is to stop the trafficking operations.

Suppose if significant amount actors in movies are exploited for their uses. Should we then outright ban movies in order to stop the exploitation? No, I would argue. The problem isn’t the movies, it’s the trafficking operations. Have countries that ban porn seen a significant improvement in gender equality or a decrease in trafficking. Please show examples.

    • Trafficking is only one aspect. Exposure to children is huge and it's teaching boys how to disrespect women and teaching girls to sexualize themselves. And yes, countries that ban certain things that exploit women have more gender equality. For instance, there's a region in Canada that bans hooters and other breastraunts because they feel it is disrespectful towards women and they have much great respect and equality than the US

    • Okay, but then that gets on the issue of freedom of speech. I mean you believe that woman shouldn’t be disrespected, as do I and many people. But the question is who’s job is to regulate that? Not the government, I would argue. Firstly there is the freedom of speech issue, but more concerning is how any theoretical law implemented would have to actually be carried out. This theoretical law would try to ensure kids don’t have access to pornography, which I would argue in order to be an effective measure, it would lead to a great violation of the right to privacy. Then suppose if a parent does not want their kids to go onto that site. The government can’t act in this circumstance, so what are they to do. I mean there are many other things they can do. Parents can block these sites so the kids can’t access them. What the government can do in this circumstance that would be effective is to teach kids in school about these issues, and how to address them. Look, as much as you would want there to be zero porn, the thing is that mere obscenity and what you would find as immoral videos aren’t good justification to restrict free speech. For if it were, then we cannot have a marketplace of ideas to debate, the freedom to critique certain ideas, and the freedom of artistic expression.

    • actually pornography is not covered by the Constitution because the Constitution only covers sexual expression if it is not obscene. The reason why the government does not get involved because it is not a political issue. So what you are saying about losing freedom of speech rights if porn is banned is wrong. Just because porn is legal does not mean it isn't derogatory towards women and harmful to people. And I'm sure we will see more on the harmful effects of porn in coming years as the children who watch porn grow up. Yes, parents can block porn but kids can still see it through their friends phones and other ways.

  • Nope, while yes it would be better if it was banned but should we also ban cigs? Should we ban fatty foods? The world would be better off without these things but it's all about personal choice and i think we should spend more time fixing the porn industry so it's better for the people working init rather than just banning it.

Also most women nowadays are choosing to go into porn with sites like only fans. So I don't know how big of a problem human traffic is in porn today but banning it would still put a lot of hard working thots out of a job.

    • I'm sure these girls could find other jobs more fulfilling. In fact, they'd be better off wo porn bc once they are all washed up, they need to relay on a man for income. At least if they gave to chose another job, they will have a 401k and retirement plan So thanks, you made me realize banning it would be better for everyone. And to answer your question, cigs aren't banned, but heroin and crack are. Should we legalize that too?

    • No the reason why we ban drugs like crack is bc they are extremely dangerous even in the short term. Unlike cigs which are long term and no where near as addictive. Well incase you haven't notice a lot of people have lost there jobs so some women don't have a choice and many other women who strip or have an only fans use it to support themselfs through college/University. Also here's a little thing for you, even if they banned porn it would only make the problem worst. In the same way that the us tried to ban alcohol, porn would just go underground putting more women at risk of being traffic and people will still be able to watch quite easily.

  • I wrote a longer answer in a comment but banning porn will simply not be possible. Also I don't think hiding sex from children will help anything. What is actually needed is proper sex education so they don't get confused.

Proper sexual education might help to move the porn industry in a different direction as well.

I don't doubt porn can have negative effects but so can literally anything, I don't think porn itself is the problem.

  • Banning would only work surface level. What the general internet user sees is like 1% of the actual amount of lewd things on the internet.

    • One percent seems to be enough to influence children, so you might as well ban the surface

  • Your understanding of Constitutional law is very limited. What if I suggest that the First Amendment doesn't apply to any news media on the internet, since computers and the internet did not exist in 1789? The government should be free to censor CNN online. Is that okay?

    • Actually freedom of the press always existed. Cnn and fix are press, as are alt. right and other extreme media. And freedom was granted to the press so that way we are informed politically and reporters aren't pressured by govt to skew their opinions. Porn did not exist then. It does not inform us politically. Simple. You can't outlaw something that didn't exist then

    • Okay. Tell me this: when was porn invented?

    • And, so, freedom of the press has not always existed. And, in 1789, the only media that existed was newspapers and magazines. There was no radio, no television, and no internet. So if you are a strict constructionist with reference to the then-contemporary historical context, freedom of the press does not apply to radio, television, or internet.

  • Well now what good would that do? People would still find ways to watch it

  • Government + banned = no, unless there is a clear victim. But a little regulation is OK.

  • No, that is censorship and it would be a slippery slope. What would be considered porn and who would decide? Would famous works of art featuring nude figures be banned because they are pornographic? Where would that line be? It would never all go away just because it is banned.

    • You are being philosophical about it just to justify it. Any dummy cab tell a porno from an art nude. For one thing, michaelangelo's David isn't fucking the Mona Lisa

    • But how would it be decided? Who would decide? Would erotic fiction be banned as well?

  • Parents need to find how to ban porn sites. It shouldn't be banned unless it's child porn

  • Let me guess, you are some religious freak who likes seeing things banned?

I bet you want to see abortions to banned as well and think marriage is one man and one woman lol

    • And you wonder why more people hate you religious freaks because people like you love controlling other people personal lives

    • Actually I'm not religious at all, and if you're wondering who the major porn viewers are, it's repressed Catholic schoolboys

    • @Asker I dont think so

  • I agree, porn should be banned but it won't be. Pornography is political and effects people in ways that they are not fully aware of. The average child views pornography before even starting puberty nowadays. The end result of porn and feminism is a hookup culture where people seek sex instead of relationships.

  • Too much alcohol is the same, but research shows limited intake is actually good for you. So I’m just saying, if you can control it its fine and can be a nice variety for couples..

    • Well minor consumption of porn isn't proven to be good for you. You can't compare the two

      Just an opinion.. Not arguing😂✌🏻

    • This article also says that porn and divorce could be linked and can double the divorce rate Thanks for your "argument" tho

  • Porn has been around for thousands of years 😂😂😂

    • Yeah and television has been around since 79 BC

    • There are other media. Have you heard of books? Lol

    • That's MUCH different than what you see on pornhub. You can sex traffick someone into a book

  • Porn makes men happy and only males women miserable because they aren’t mature enough to separate fantasy from reality.
Porn is visual fantasy and entertainment. It’s literally no different than female mental fantasy, chick flicks, 50 shades garbage, etc.

It’s extremely pathetic that women can not deal with anything they don’t like and try to stop it instead of just acting like adults and getting over themselves.

    • Um it's not like a rom com. You don't see anal sex and daddy/daughter sex in rom coms Men were actually happier before porn

    • Oh but you see it is. Women fantasize mentally and about love, emotion, romance, and sex. Rom coms are that formula perfectly. Men fantasize visually and about sex. Porn is that formula perfectly. Your refusal to accept that doesn’t make that not true. There is not study (or legit study) which shows male happiness before porn. Although, There is a study which shows female happiness declining exponentially over the last 50+ years... as you slowly become more “strong and independent”... you become more miserable. Maybe it’s time for women to stop trying so hard to control and ultimately destroy everything to fit what they “believe”

  • No, I find it helps to fill a void of loneliness, tho temporarily

  • So consenting adults can't have sexual activity with who they want?

Like i could fuck a girl, thats fine but if she wants to take a selfie of us fucking thats not allowed?

    • Some of those girls in porn aren't consenting. They are trafficked. A lot of porn shows brutality towards women and children are watching this and learning to dehumanize women. You could make a porn on your Snapchat, but are you distributing it to children? Are you forcing and coercing the girl? Are drug involved?

    • i worked in porn. No. Girls are not trafficked. Its nonsense. Is one somewhere someway? Well sure. Just as many as times people eat sharp metal objects in their food. Are you concerned about that too? Its highly unrealistic concern to get a box of capt crunch and worry about eating a nail.

    • Oh yeah? And what did you do in porn and in what city? And actually, yes there was a concern about sharp objects being placed in Halloween candy in the 80s. Did parents tell their kids, go trick or treating anyway! No, they started checking the candy and watching what houses the kids went to

    • What do you care if you're not cashing in?

  • No, religious people would due but you can stop reality porn from home videos or personal. Who knows what was the agenda behind it? Most of the woman suicide because of it.

  • Yes.

  • Nope.

  • No but should be more difficult for minors to see

  • Impossible to ban, it will always exist as it always did en banning it would make it illegal an therefor much more dangerous for people involved in it. Same with drugs, never has the consumption of illegal drugs been that high but still it is illegal, breathing and feeding a criminal industry around it.
