What do you think of the women who defend or support sex workers, but scorn men who go to them?

I never understood this. You have women out there who defend/support sex workers, but think guys who go to them are trash. Thoughts? Disclaimer: I personally am not 100% against sex workers, but I'm also not 100% against guys who use them either. I guess I'm in the middle, but my political views don't really matter here, this is about women who support them but hate men who use them.

  • Well, it's like this. There are married men; mostly well-know celebrities and Public Figures, Elected Officials and Politicians ('Wink-Wink'); who frequent working female professionals, in sometimes brothels and hotels to seek out "certain favors," and they pay for it; don't be known to the public eye; until later on, isn't usually swept under the rug unless through hush hush money to main their "perfect image." Of Course, the Women support the sex workers, because they see them struggling, maybe as single mothers; who are trying make ends meet for them and their children; who they had from a previous or recurring relationship, and they scorn men, because they see the men as losers and users; who just want a "quick-fix," of pleasure, then leave the woman to fend for themselves for the next available client to verbally and physically take advantage of them, Cops won't normally swoop in, setting up a sting operation to catch to them, "low-life,-johns;" with nothing better to do than to abuse vulnerable women they imagine if it were their sisters, daughters and nieces, until they stepped in to stop it. The case in, "You can buy it, but you can't sell it." Sure, you can agree to it online and meet in a hotel, but to actually, either meet them on the street or in hotel with the idea of selling it, becomes the daunting crime. There has been FBI probing in stopping Child Trafficking and Human Trafficking in most cities, states and countries, through some websites like Backpage. com and Craigslist. com, the married men mess it up for guys like me; who just want time and company, not sex, in secrecy and discreteness (you may get sex anyway); without even asking for it, because a man and woman can't be in a room together for too long without you know, actually doing that. So something will happen. The thing that gets me is that Marijuana is legal, but Prostitution to protect the workers, because not everyone can just go out and date the way they want without getting shot down and going through the work to find someone, some folks need dates and actual intimacy that the workers can only provide through pay. I've read or probably read wrong that these cities only accept Prostitution mostly outside of one of them is Las Vegas and Amsterdam, but you got to drive out your way in Nevada about 60 miles to Sherri's Ranch, Chicken Ranch or Love Ranch Brothels. Why not legalize it, so that the workers will be healthy and safe? I guess there is no fun in that, right? Anyway,
You have women who are against it, because they have higher standard morals than that, they are what you called the "Uppity-Higher-Standard-Type." (No offense), but they don't believe you should ever have to pay for sex, when in hindsight, you do it on the daily through dining out, going to the movies, bowling, opera or anything else in between in order to get to the next level of courtship, if they are or you both are single parents, there's the whole gaining trust from the kids, because can't no partner just come into their life without trust, they may be crazy. It's a chess game to me.

    • It’s just all so stupid. There needs to be a way to remove the criminal element. Have more well regulated brothels that have: - strict interview process to prevent exploitation. - weekly std testing - random undercover police visits. Not sting operations but “secret shoppers” to see if any criminality or abuse is going on - guaranteed confidentiality for workers and clients. A patron won’t feel comfortable knowing there is a paper trail of what he’s doing - have brothels set up in places that are from schools and children If local governments can tax and make money from these brothels I’m sure they will be interested in legalizing it.

    • As for all those “uppity women” I couldn’t agree more. Those bitches are so far removed for what it’s like to be a man they might as well live another planet. I hate women like that. They actually think dating is the same way for men as it is for women which is insane.

  • This is complicated. Some guys get so frustrated with women they throw in the towel and just get sex worker to get their needs met. I can see how guys are fed up with freeloaders and gold diggers. At least a sex worker is honest. The expectations are out on the table.

But on the flip side there is a dark and dirty industry. Yes women get trafficked but also some voluntarily go into it. There is usually drugs and abuse. But since it’s illegal to begin with it comes with the territory.

It’s funny that the USA is one of the few countries were prostitution is illegal (except in a few rural parts of Nevada.). But I read a statistic that over a million women do this.

But seriously what’s the difference of being a sugar daddy who pays for everything just for sex (and no guarantee) vs. a prostitute? It’s a facade that the sugar daddy relationship is real. Embarrassing for both the guy and the girl that everybody sees that. Prostitution is usually discreet.

Also it’s legal to produce porn videos in the USA. So it’s okay to pay two (or more people) to have sex but it’s not legal to pay someone to have sex with you?

We need more common sense on all of this.

    • "Some guys get so frustrated with women they throw in the towel and just get sex worker to get their needs met. I can see how guys are fed up with freeloaders and gold diggers. At least a sex worker is honest." That's me right there. Better the prostitutes have my money and they rub their tits on my genitals than paying for a ho's meal just because I asked her out or because I have a penis.

    • @Unit1 I think that’s the final conclusion guys come to. That’s the breaking point.

    • That's our equivalent of having power over the opposite sex by making more money and spending it on those, who give us something in return. It's a good deal. On top of that these prostitutes have a much higher value than the gold diggers and freeloaders.

  • I don't think that happens. Usually women that support sex workers don't care about johns and those who don't support them don't support johns either. But I'll tell you why I dislike them...

I could tell you by my experience of being a former stripper tho that the johns are not good people. They lie and try to manipulate young girls. A lot of them have been unwantedly fondled and insulted just because they pay us, they think they can do what they want to us. Like we are not human, but worthless. One girl got raped in the champagne room and another beaten to a pulp. Even male strip club owners tell us the guys who come into strip clubs are the scum of the earth... and that is a man telling us that. So while there are some customers I liked, in general I do not like johns because they aren't exactly fun loving people, they are manipulative, sociopathic and dangerous.
And whenever I tried going on dates w a guy I met in the strip club, he would do his best to lie and con me into sleeping w him. He had no respect for me.
Strippers on the other hand do it for a living. It's a job. I had to in order to support myself during a bad time in my life. So in short, johns are dangerous, strippers aren't.

    • That was a long-winded speech that sucked the I. Q. points out of the internet. What cheesy tv cop show did you get that narrative from? Innocent vestal virgins and the horny men who want to fuck them. Yes, I''m sure you put your fist in the air in feminist solidarity while sucking dick for money. I'm not attacking you because you are a sex worker. I'm attacking you because you are a misandrist. Strippers are harmless? Bullshit. Look at Cardi B.

    • @joeblow123 wow you really hate women don't you? I don't associate with feminist groups or any organization. I'm going by my own experiences and unless you worked in a strip club, you really can't talk can you? What did cardio b do that was so evil? Did she beat you up? Lol

    • Cardi B drugged men and robbed them. Also, she allowed transsexuals to rape these unconscious men.

  • Are you talking about when they have boyfriends? Because that’s the only time I would agree is an appropriate time to tell your guy it’s not okay seeking out sex workers in a relationship.
Sex workers agree and get that and don’t even like serving boyfriends or husbands because it’s fucked up in reality.

    • It’s cheating that’s the only reason why, You can’t change weather you pay for it or not that’s not cool.

    • I agree with that, but no, I'm talking about how there are women who support sex workers but hate any man period for going to one.

    • Ahhh Big YIKES, I feel like there just saying it because they want to act like there a “woman’s woman” for girls so no one suspects there a judgmental becky when they really are 🤦🏻‍♀️ Ew that’s gross fuck them, those females are fake lol

  • I dont understand why they would be supportive of the work but not the people who go? In the end its business, if you support the workers, thats what they're paid to do, without the patrons there's no work?
They're probs angry when they hear of the small amount of stories and situations that come out/happen of people (men AND women who treat the sex industry workers like trash?)
Be fully supportive or not at all in my case!!
Nothing wrong with it, if your an adult you know what your doing, who cares! Sex work/trade has been around since the beginning get with it peoples!!! 🤷‍♀️

  • I don't know many women who defend or support sex workers AND scorn people who go to them.

I know a few who support sex work but wouldn't personally use their services. I'm one of those. I won't begrudge anyone seeing an escort, but personally I wouldn't be comfortable doing so.

It's definitely contradictory to defend sex work and then condem people for using said service.

  • I don’t remember the exact information since it’s been years but I think around 75% of prostitutes enter the industry before age 14 due to family violence or molestation or starvation or disability - this is why it’s illegal - it’s not as exciting or as easy as the movies make it out to be

    • But prostitution and pornography is different , unlike pornography prostitution isn’t regulated

    • Thats a simple fix. Legalize prostitution and make it illegal for minors to do it. When it is legal it is regulated

    • @TienShenhan it’s always been illegal for minors but people do it anyway

  • I think sex workers actually didn’t have another choice (at least in my country) . So I don’t hate them and I even think they should have a chance to have a decent job ( in my country they don’t give them jobs) and decent life.
About the guys, they can do whatever they want as long as they’re truthful. Having affair with sex workers has nothing to do with anyone but their current or future partner.

  • Maybe not all men. Just some men. IE: their partner, father, married brother. People that actually close to that girl and already have relationships. You know?
That’s not right. As a woman myself, I don’t scorn women that work like that. They need money and it’s in a way is legal. So I don’t have any problem with them. The problem is when I caught my guy or my father go to then. That will be a huge problem.

    • Why? If she’s offering the service, why can the guy buy her services? Cheaters are a different story

    • Trust me, you would rather have your partner cheat with a professional sex worker than with his coworker / anybody on tinder... First reason is that a professional knows to protect herself from STDs and will thus protect your cheating partner and eventually you. Second reason is: Professionals hardly ever fall in love with a punter and regular punters will not develop feelings either. Some men use prostitutes in order to save their marriage. They may have odd desires their partner is not willing to experiment with but still love their wife. Or the wife is seriously ill and cannot have sex. The emotional pressure of being about to lose your partner drives some men to prostitutes as they need sex as a valve. Ok, most cheating partners are probably just a-holes, but those would cheat anyway, with a prostitute or sb. else.

  • I dont know never met a woman who is supportive of it while being contradictory about it.

  • I don't completely support sex workers nor am I against them because it's their own choice. I am not against available and single men going to prostitutes. I am against husbands and boyfriends going to them. This is because I am completely against cheating. I do know it is like purchasing any other commodity but here it is sex.

    • Lol personally ide love a minimum 6 months sentence for adultery... 4 relationships with 3 women all 3 cheated... fucking hoes man.

    • @hangry22 I definitely agree with that.

  • She can believe whatever, but most young people that are sex workers, had no real choices like the rest of us, not all, but most. Its easy to critize and look down on those people but we have our secrets and faults and a woman can also believe what they choose. I understand both sides, im a libra, whether thats legit or not. And seeing both sides Its very hard to try and limit anyones beliefs. Some of both sexes scorn, but thats life. Sure wish I could help someone get out of sex working, its sad and some are so young.

  • What type of support, a support of female sluttness, or a support of who they see as victims?

    https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TheWomenAreSafeWithUs

  • Usual hypocrites. By the way in countries with legal prostitution other women tend to think that "sex workers" do it for easy money. The factor of exploiting by a pimp who has connection to law enforcement to keep cops on distance doesn't exist.
Where is nothing to defend, there is no need to find a scapegoat.

  • I don't know. I have always SUPPORTED & DEFENDED sex work/workers... and have always ENCOURAGED men to visit them, and think there's nothing wrong with that at all.
(In other words, I wouldn't know)

    • I basically agree, but it does depend on the circumstances. In Europe, if you pay less than 200 EUR per hour for standard sex, you are running a serious risk of doing something seriously wrong. I do not know about US prices as prostitution is illegal there except for nevada. In countries where prostitution is illegal, conditions for sex-workers are worse by orders of magnitude. That is why I get so fired-up by "outlaw prostitution" fundamentalists: All they can achieve is to make life a lot worse for the most vulnerable members of society. Outlawing the buyer-side only cannot help either, as women who have to sell their bodies can hardly take the risk to sue a punter (or pimp). In countries with legal prostitution, at least a few punters will occasionally try to report abuse to the authorities, but virtually nobody will risk a jail term and a divorce in order to help a prostitute who could (only) in theory seek help herself without legal repercussions.

    • @connythebaker Agreed. I used to work as a booker for an escort agency, and have personally known many sex workers of all types. Trying to regulate what people do with their bodies is problematic.

    • @tamera952 You should write a book.

  • The same as the others: Hypocrites

  • When I was in college I knew several women who were feminists and affirmed that women have the right to do what they wanted with their bodies. Whether it was abortion or providing Escort services. These same women despised men who took advantage of women by paying the woman for their services.

The only explanation I have is that they are hypocrites but they can't see themselves as being one. Most hypocrites are this way.

  • You cannot have one without the other

  • Nothing worse than a Hypocrite. You cannot say i support the right to have guns then say anyone who has a gun or goes and gets one are evil lmao.

  • I can't recall any female sticking up for a sex worker and trashing a 'john' in the same conversation. I could be mistaken but nothing comes to mind.

    • Of course they have enough sense not to contradict themselves so blatantly in the same conversation -.- They're not Donald Trump!

  • As hypocritical people who want too have their cake and eat it too.

  • If everyone is safe and are consenting adults I see no issue

    • if they people involved consent to it willingly. then to each their own really.
    • if you think about it most dating and hookups. are like selling sexual favors for money, goods or services to some degree.
