There are certain things that would be easier if your height matched, and other things that are much easier if you are smaller. For example, you can much more easily be carried, placed on a counter or held up against a wall.
Conventional missionary might be tougher to see face-to-face, but if he puts a pillow/cushion under your ass/lower back, he can probably adjust well enough to make that work too.
Every couple is different, and part of the fun is figuring out what works and what doesn't.
No, because a man is supposed to be taller than a woman, but I think that what you should asked is if sex is better when partners don't have a huge size gap between them, maybe so, considering that man should be half head taller than a woman, you are not able to see his face? you are lucky that you didn't get crashed in the missionary position, but that said you likely feel more dominated by him, and that you got your hands on the best man that you can get, and that mental feelings can offset the technical difficulties. :)

Hence height is usually not a concern.
