My best male friend always tells me you are able to "tell" when a girl is naughty and/or likes sex and I don't really understand how.

It's usually her charm and wanton attitude that give her away.

But if you mean the difference between a nympho and a promiscuous girl, then one is a freak, the other a hoe. It's usually their trail of busted relationships and heartbreak that gives them away.

One will clamour for sex any place it's possible. The other just wants to leech from the best man in her circle.

Not a guy but I don't think everyone aligns sex wise with their public image. Some people are very private and take things slow but it doesn't have anything to do with their sexual drive.

Pheromone levels actually have a lot to do with it, there's also something to be said for the way they walk, speech patterns with specific tones could give indications, facial expressions when they're talking to you, the way they dress, and their overall behavior. Other than that you might even be able to go off reputation, though I wouldn't like to imply what kind of situation would result in word-of-mouth from so many people.

Oh yea, usually. Just something I've sensed, but Im not that good at picking up on it all the time. Any guy worth going to bed with should turn his girl into his freak anyway. After all, if anything like me, a natural man, assured of his game and a little talented at it, should soon make even a librarian squirt halfway across the room!
