Is it disrespectful if he compares you to a pornstar?

If he says things like "you look like a pornstar", "you`re my pornstar". Like, pornstars are not something to look up to lol. I don't know, maybe Im overreacting.

Superb Opinion

  • Well I guess that's up to each girl, how she feels about that.
I would not like it, exactly, but it depends on a lot of the particulars. Such as:

    • Did he say it once, or does he seem obsessive, calling you that often?
    • Does he idolize multiple porn stars, or is there one he likes in particular?
    • Does he subscribe/pay for porn?
    • Has he built a 'relationship' with one or more, where he feels connected to them?
    • Is he currently extremely active watching them/it, or is it more in the past?
    • Is he with you now, are you a couple, and has he stopped his other porn 'relationships' or is he continuing with them?
    • Do you remind him physically of one in particular?
    • Is it because of certain moves you do having sex with him? (That's a good thing, most likely, no downside, unless you're uncomfortable with it, and did some things you don't expect to do often.)
    • Are his views consistent and he isn't sexist in some areas, downgrading or demoralizing women, while seeing them as sex objects and that is the main focus?

I'd factor all those things into my decision about how I felt about it.

  • well it really depends on the context and the person. like, if a stranger or a guy who's not in relationship with you says that, i think it's disrespectful. if it's your boyfriend saying "you`re my pornstar", it sounds like he means you're really hot or just an "endearing" comment in general.
it depends on the context though, just ask him if that was supposed to be a good thing/compliment or what... and if you're uncomfortable with that, make sure he knows. if he still insists comparing you with pornstars knowing that you're not comfortable then he doesn't really respect you.

  • "pornstars are not something to look up to"
Porn is hard work. Most women can do it only for a couple of month or even less. Those who really "make it" in that business - the real "stars" - need to be highly efficient managers of their own brand.
When it comes to respect, I see no reason to prefer either Kim Kardashian, Lisa Ann, Amouranth or Joanna Angel. They all make money by providing visual sexual stimulation to men. They all are self-empowered, economically independent women.
By comparing you to a pornstar however he probably does not want to flatter your talent as a brand-strategist or business manager. He probably wants to tell you that - to him - you look as sexy as a top-of-the-line model who has made looking sexy her very profession and who has employed legions of specialists to produce pertinent visual material - from plastical surgeons via makeup artists to specially trained film crews.
That is actually unlikely but he certainly means well and wants to flatter you.
I would simply appreciate such a compliment and be happy with it.

  • Always looking for something to be offended by. Got it.

"A lady in the streets, a whore in the sheets." What all guys want.

Bottom line, if this guy isn't the best thing that's ever happened to you then why are you hanging around? Cut him loose so he can find someone that thinks so, and you can find one that is.

What Girls & Guys Said

  • He's just saying you're outrageously sexy and a fabulous lover, better than he ever imagined is my guess.

  • Some girls like it. Apparently you don't. I would then offer that it is disrespectful. Tell him that, and tell him to stop. If he doesn't, he doesn't respect you... so reward him for that, and walk away.

  • Hmmm. I can see how you might find that offensive. My guess is he's just trying to compliment your sexiness. Maybe ask him to express it another way.

  • Well depends on the porn star i guess, not the best compliment could have said you look like a movie star or a model. Ya know anything but a porn star

  • It is a shame he knows any porn stars by name. Shows you what constructive things he does with his free time and that stuff will taint his relationships with real women.

To him I'm sure he thinks it is some compliment.

  • I think he says just to turn you on.. so for me that's fine

  • if i say it its a compliment but will try making sure its in the context that makes such a comparison a compliment.

  • I think it was meant as a compliment so bear that in mind even if it felt like an insult. Most porn stars are quite attractive so there are worse things to be compared with

  • Well pornstars are many guys fantasy girl, so maybe he means that?

  • it's a compliment, cause pornstars usually look sexy. you're mixing the negative thoughts you have about pornstars into it. don't do that.

  • Is he saying that you fuck like a pornstar? That just means you're really good at it, definitely a compliment! Is he saying that you've been with so many partners your like a pornstar? That is a nice-ish way of calling you a slut. Mostly pornstar are hot, so looki g like o e Mena you're hot, but maybe you dress a little slutty.

  • There is no comparison to a normal lady and a pornstar so unless it's by looks then you cannot say your not as good

  • Comparing someone with porn star, is disrespectful because you are not performing in lieu of money and engaged in filming your fucking ability. Sex with boyfriend or husband is one on one relations.

  • You do have a point! Pornstars really shouldn't be looked up to. Instead, I think He meant Super Sexy, in a Good way! As in, Supermodel, or Actress, or even a Masterpiece of a Painting!

  • Omg girls don't you check it? Its obviously a compliment on how good you are in bed

  • its a compliment!

  • Pornstars are really hot

  • very disgustingly disrespectful

  • nope!

  • He's quite immature. How old is he?
