How often have you turned someone down and why?

One time in high school, there was a girl that liked me, but I didn't like her back. Even if I did like her back, I felt I could because I liked someone else at the time. One day I had enough of her, so I got desperate and lied by telling her I already had a girlfriend, and I never saw her again after that.

To be honest, in the years since then, I've been feeling awful and lousy about, wishing I could've handled it better.

Yes. When I can't communicate in a normal tone and volume with a grown individual when I done nothing to that person. That triggers me and I at first snap back, then just lay it behind me and move on with my life and ignore the shit of them afterwards.
