Why do homosexuals dress and act like the opposite gender?

Just curious. Why do homosexual people act more like the opposite sex?

Gay men often are known to be very feminine, while gay women are often known to be quite masculine, dressing like men and acting like men.

I thought the whole concept of being homosexual was that you find the same sex attractive, not that you have to act like the opposite sex.

Isn't that supposed to be more of a transgender thing?

  • They act like the opposite gender, dress like the opposite gender, and share the same sexual preferences as the opposite gender in many cases. It seems like there is probably a genetic basis for all of this. Even their voices tend to resemble the opposite genders more closely than do their non-gay peers of the same sex.

    • That is interesting. I do believe their sexuality is genetic, but I don't think their voice/dressing choices are. I don't know though. Still gotta educate myself on this.

    • What external causes could plausibly be the catalyst for their preferences to behave and dress as the gender opposite their sex? I see none. Also your voice is a very genetic thing I would imagine.

    • yes, the voice, but you can also make your voice higher and get used to that... I don't know.

  • In a lot of cases, but certainly not all. I dont know exactly but I asked my gay friend that once, he very macho,. he said for several reasons. like they were raised by domineering mothers who they copied how to act, wanted to be a girl, or maybe just iddentified more with females, he didn't know. I never knew but 3or4 gay men and didn't know but 1 very well. Its like why are the best beauticians, home decoraters or dress designers seem to be gay. who knows?

  • You know that there are masculine gay guys and feminine lesbians as well

  • Hmmm, That is interesting. I never really noticed that before but you are right. They do act like ladies. Wow, I'm not sure why lesbians want to be masculine but the gay men who do that just like to feel pretty once in a while.
