Is it normal to sometimes get dry during sex?

Hello everyone, I was wondering if it is normal for girls/women to get dry during sex. It has happend to me a few times, it isn't that I'm not enjoying it, I don't really understand why that happends. I've talked with my partner about getting lube but he says we don't need it bacause it happends very few times, not even 1/10 times. But when it does it's kinda awkward/discomfortable.

  • Definitely get some for those time where it does happen, its natural for women to get dry sometimes, every vagina is different its probably just from the friction of penetration.. Me and my boyfriend have flavored lube, we rarely use it for vaginal sex, but its good to have just in case. Its not up to him, he's not the one who will have chafe down there inside him, which is painful. There's nothing wrong with lube, especially flavored lube. get some flavored lube and next time ur dry, have him pull himself out and put some on u using his fingers, and maybe hell lick ur pussy until its all soaking and ready for him, best of luck❤

  • It is not uncommon and can be caused by many different things. Try noting when it does happen and look for a relation to where you are at in your cycle. Lube is cheap and there's nothing wring with having it on hand for when it is needed. If he balks at that, he is showing a lack of consideration for you.

Don't get a silicone based lube unless you want to use it in the pool/hot tub or for anal sex. It makes the clean up later much more difficult. Astroglide or KY are water soluble and clean up very quickly.

    • Thanks for MHO!

  • Get your own lube and use it if you need it. I don't know why it happens but it does and clearly he's not the one suffering when it happens. Pretty inconsiderate if you ask me.

    • thank you for your answer. I'll consider buying one for myself

    • Something a little thicker may work better. It lasts longer.

  • Yup. This is what lube is for.

  • Yes it is very normal, especially if you are using certain types of condoms, they actually dry out the girl very quickly.

Get silicone lube and you won't have to keep reapplying it. Especially in a pool or shower.

Wetness isn't always attached to how turned on a person is either.

  • Always bring lotion. Dollar store unscented Aloe Vera is very good.

  • Its normal. If you're dehydrated it could effect your vaginal wetness. Drink plenty of water. Also use a good water based lube like Ky liquigel or astro glide for there times you do dry out

    • u really shuoldn t, it s a part of body u can t control and... it s still an "animal" part we all have, even if you still henjoy it, your body might Not be able to prepare all that lube. plus.. if my girl would suffer this without saying it to me, id be mad about it

  • Guess it depends what time of the month it is? Also, the age of a woman...(not an issue in your case.)
    Does it hurt when dry?
Use some natural oil, like coconut.
