Do you think this website in non-inclusive?

In the very short time I’ve been on this website so far, I have noticed mostly heteronormative questions and opinions. I’ve already seen multiple posts implying they view wlw solely as a kink. Being LGBTQ+ and in an LGBTQ+ relationship, and spending most of my free time on very forward-thinking, inclusive social media platforms, it’s odd for me to see gender binarism and a lack of diversity in sexual and romantic preference. Anyone else LGBTQ+ experiencing the same thing? Is this just not the site for me and my orientation?

Superb Opinion

  • The vast majority of the people in the world are hetero, so it shouldn't be a surprise to see that most people here are as well. That would be like having green eyes (a relatively rare occurrence) and then expecting a website to be heavily populated by green-eyed people just because they all have eyes - that's an unreasonable expectation.

Most people here are happy to have you and would welcome your input and questions and perspectives, but it's not an LGBTQ+ focused website, so if that's what you're looking for, this isn't it. People here generally aren't going to hassle you or judge you or try to change you or any of that (a few might - with 300,000+ active accounts and being open to the whole world, there will always be a few jerks), but neither are they looking to be changed or judged themselves either.

Like any open-to-the-general-public website, it is NOT going to be a "safe space" and you WILL have people sharing opinions that you might not agree with - and everyone here is allowed to disagree as long as they aren't using personal attacks. If you can deal with that, and have a thick skin, then you'll fit right in. If not, then you might not find this to be your favorite place to be.

  • The sites you say that are "forward-thinking" and "inclusive" are actually the opposite: Places where people like you feel comfortable because everyone else's opinion is shut down as if it didn't matter, like reddit, where any opinion that isn't just an echo of the only ONE opinion you find in the whole site is just downvoted into oblivion (and they even hide it when it gets downvoted that much, and you get a decrease in "karma" as punishment for thinking differently). Welcome to a site where people can speak their mind. This is much closer to the real world. You can try to shut everyone down and then believe you're right, but if you can't handle opposing views, then you'll have a hard time everywhere you go. Aside from that, the site is "girls ask guys, guys ask girls", so the idea is to get an opinion of how the mind of the opposite gender works and their behavior: It doesn't mean that it's not inclusive, but it's oriented towards a certain thing and a certain public. It doesn't mean you can't ask questions about homosexual relationships, but obviously most of the people who come here will be heterosexual or at least bisexual. If you're looking for something else, like you already said, there's plenty of what you're looking for everywhere else on the web

  • people talk about their own experiences. anyone is welcome, but if no one is talking about those issues, it's because they don't apply to the people who are here

  • Not sure why it there peoples framing of their perspectives has to be exclusionary to you. That’s a choice you’re making , not others.

  • No, I don't understand how its non-inclusive.
This site is merely a platform for all people to freely ask questions they might feel uncomfortable asking family, friends or colleagues etc.

The nature or wording of many questions asked and opinions shared by those who use this site, are based on their own personal issues, experiences or concerns.

  • Welcome to the real world girl, GAG is not a 'safe space' last time I checked. :)

  • The entire premise of this site is based on the gender binary. It's in the name.

  • The site was virtually set up to allow men and women to ask each other questions about the other sides perspective in heterosexual dating/sex. While most people here (not all) are I think pretty welcoming of LG people, there aren’t all that many of them here since the whole structure isn’t meaningful for them. Certainly there are some “b” people around.
there are a few “T” people around for sure and for those who are binary and Trans it sort of works ok.
I've seen the n-b person show up but most vanish fast.

  • I've seen plenty of the questions and topics you sty you haven't seen. You're obviously not looking to hard. But to answer when you have an app whose base users are straight men and women. You're going to have primarily questions that straight men and women relate to. You sound like ther typical "progressive " looking for a problem or issue where there really isn't one. Really life is complicated enough without people trying to create more problems. How hard is it to just enjoy yourself and enjoy those around you. Stop dwelling on ther negative things in life and focus on the positive.

Good luck and have a nice day

  • I know some things you need to request to help improve it im straight but thought i say something

  • Most posts are heteronormative because most people are heterosexual. There's no plot to destroy your way of life and uou aren't always a victim.

  • As most people are heterosexual, there will be more posts and questions regarding them, because as with society, most people on here are heterosexual.

  • Just stop. There is plenty of mental illness on this site.

  • Another mentally disabled snowflake is getting offended.
There are only men and women.
When the child is born the doctors say you have a boy or a girl.
Tbere are no other genders and anyone who believrs otherwise is mentally retarded.

  • I think it includes too much

  • You seem to be included on this website.

  • No because after all this is girlsaskguys right

  • It’s odd for you to see gender binarism? I think that says a lot about social media you are used to. The ratio of LGBTQ to hetero here at GAG is representative of the world at large. If that bothers you then yes, this is just not the site for you.

  • *Heteronormative" .. "wlw solely as a kink" .. "gender binarism" .. it all sounds like you look disparigingly at those of us who are in fact heterosexual

If this site doesn't feel right for you and your orientation then why not stick with spending most of your time on "forward-thinking, inclusive social platforms" ?

    • *disparagingly

  • This shows that you have obviously spent way too much time being immorally brainwashed by the "LGBT" sites you've been on. Time to BREAK AWAY from that unGodly garbage, and spend your time in PROPER areas and sites

  • Simple. The majority of the population is straight. As such, the majority of postings will about straight subjects. Remember.. majority rules.

  • This place acknowledges the reality that half of us are women and half are men. Those other sites are completely fucked, you’ve spent too much time absorbing lies and you’re all confused. There are girls and guys and very, very rare hermaphrodites, all that other shit is just mental, in the mind, thoughts, not real
