  • I have a very specific opinion on freedom of speech. If YOU believe that those words are offensive, cruel, and you have given them the power to hurt someone, then autism nor ADHD is no excuse.
I have simply decided to make fun of language considered hurtful, instead of giving it the negative power I don't want it to have.

    • what if Im using them about myself... and if this is the case than why is the n word and f word reclaimed for people of colour and lgbt people?

    • I don't know what people do what they do, honestly. Many people make jokes about being "crazy" or "the dreaded R word". Others have their entire days ruined when they just hear an offensive word. There are many words that have terrible history and are offensive, but specific ones are picked out. Personally I never let a single word have that much power. I have better things to do, being a drama queen is exhausting. It comes down to you and the people around you.

  • Yes, but I wouldn't use it publicly because it has not yet been reclaimed and will likely make some neurodivergent people who have been called that uncomfortable and make some neurotypicals think they can say it too, especially if you are masking when you do use it.

  • You can say whatever you want to. Words are descriptive, not proscriptive, and the only power they have is what we give them. The two questions you need to ask yourself are 1. how much power do you want to give them? and 2. how much import do you place on the power other people give them?

  • Maybe with people you know... i have Autism but i wouldn't use the R word in public as i dont think Autistic people would fill the meaning of that word. I think generally we have an advantage over neurotypical

    • fair enough. What is our advantage?

    • We think differently to everyone else and can act differently, its a bonus when you have people who see things different to everyone else around them

  • Maybe, but the neurotypicals might get their panties in a wad. So tread lightly.
