Women don't find random men's penises to be sexy.
Also, as for penises, it's not really comparable because you can see a penis in a totally nonsexual context. A guy can just be sleeping naked, get up, and his penis is shown but it is not a sexual context. You can't see a vagina unless the woman is spreading her labia open for no apparent reason, which isn't realistic, or she's having sex or masturbating, which are sexual contexts. So it's not really comparable. Also I don't really see penises often in media anyway.
Hey could u pls answer on my question?
Lol, a paid actor is exploited I guess.
@6suejsjsj that is correct. I said exploit. This is because the definition of “exploit” has nothing to do with being “paid”. dictionary.cambridge.org/us/amp/english/exploitSo before you laugh at things, why not try exploiting your brain to understand many words don’t have negative or positive connotations. However I get the feeling that’s either not possible or might make your head hurt. I love helping people who ask questions, however when people exploit their own stupidity and laugh due to their own ignorance, I truly relish in making them feel as dumb as they look. Perhaps next time they will think twice before publicizing their idiocy.
Sorry but actors like their job. Women aren't sexualized or whatever they are just too sensitive and feel dissadvantaged all the time for no reason.
@6suejsjsj sorry but many actresses feel like that they are sexualized. Kiera knightly has small breasts. But they numbed up her boobs to capitalize on her boobs. She’s already sexy af but Hollywood exploited that sexuality. charlize theron is a gorgeous woman. She wasn’t sexualized by Hollywood for her roll In Monster. But she was exploited for her acting ability.
@Breanna_nonbinary I want to be sure I understand you, because you made MANY good, SOLID points. Do you believe women are being overly sexualized in film? From what you posted, I get the impression that you believe women can be sexual, and maybe doing some of the scenes, for their own reasons, and taking OWNERSHIP of their sexuality, and choose, for themselves.Maybe some of these things, and women just showing, and in certain contexts, maybe enhances their appeal, and helps perpetuate the human race? Or did I get it all wrong! :) LOL!!

Women are simply overly sensitive. It's normal for a guy in a movie to be shirtless but for a women it is "ObJEctiVication"
@6suejsjsj men are allowed to go shirtless in public but women aren't, which should demonstrate that these aren't exactly the same. Society views male toplessness as nonsexual but female toplessness as sexual.
I never see men running around shirtless but whatever.
@6suejsjsj where do you live? Somewhere where it's cold all year?
No no no no
im telling ya , after working in that industry a long long time, u can't feel horney anymore even when u look at the actor making love, so dont assume that director feel horney, u properly have little sex so u think everyone horney went watching sex, but after seeing, doing that a lot, it become boring.
@8lutty If it is not about being horny, then why do gay male creators insist on putting buff muscular men's pecs and asses on our screens (and often), while straight male creators hardly ever do that?I can only think of one difference between these creators, and that difference is that the gay creators are horny for buff muscular men whereas straight men are not. They're horny for women so that's why they oversexualize women instead.
that could be, but also it could simply is that in that scene the character need to do sexual stuff, to showing the advanced in relationship between each character maybe, and people dont mind showing and watching it so they doesn't censor. but if it really like u said that the director feel horney or they try to make audience horney, then they should have an agreement of the actor first in my opinion
oh also i live in country that men could shirtless and women can't, tho after a teen girl feel embarrassed looking at my shirtless body, i never shirtless before woman anymore lol, still shirtless at home tho, but that sure is unfarre for woman
@8lutty I provided 2 examples of men being over-sexualized in media created by gay men.In the first example, there are voyeuristic shots of buff muscular guys showering. They could have just filmed from outside the shower stalls & not voyeuristically leered over the guys' bodies.Compare to how the same tv show displayed 2 women showering. The women's bodies weren't shown at all. Why? Because the gay male creator isn't sexually attracted to women. https://youtu.be/MBpS_0GhyKUThe second example I provided is of a buff guy walking into a bar, almost naked, completely unnecessarily.
@8lutty More examples of male sexualization in media created by gay man is that American Horror Story (created by a gay guy) has many scenes of women and men masturbating. When it's a woman masturbating, it typically just shows the woman's face and her fantasies. Even when the woman is a sexy seductress trying to arouse a man, she's in clothing.Meanwhile, when the men are masturbating, they are naked with their buff bodies on display, sometimes with a brief shot of their penis. So when a male creator is attracted to men and not women, he hypersexualizes men and not women. This displays that the oversexualization of women in most media is a result of the straight men's personal fantasies and not some logical attempt at making money because "sex sells". It's because the male creator is thinking with his dick. Period.
How do you explain Caligula?
hmm. good examples, i missed it in AHS, guess bc i dont impressed by male masturbating so i miss those details.
u talk about who love porn, etc even tho u are a person who hate porn huh? how could u even understand what they think when u not even one of them? a lot of ur statement is assumption.
Never said I hated porn.
i guess i miss understand that, but even then i think u misunderstand people who pay for girl, for exp when u pay on internet like bigo or chat sex, tipping the girl something, the girl doesn't actually doing anything specific for u , so they doesn't pay for attention, they simply pay bc they want to have more fun when masturbate, or feel sexual feeling, so the idea about lack of love is wrong in most case, beside, there can't be that much people lack of love isn't it? since there is a bunch of strip club and a lot of fan for a girl. about the girl part, they simply love the feeling to showing off their body , it doesn't have to be about 'admiration and respect', and im sure most of the girl realize that most people just love her body in sexual way, and that what the girl love to feel. so not everyone is like ur explaination
All I know is it takes more effort for a man to find a woman who genuinely wants to give her time and attention to him emotionally and sexually without spending a dime. You have to deal with compatibility, getting to know a person, rejection, etc. If you have the money it’s easier to just pay a girl to show her body to you or even have sex with you. If she’s accepting money from “everyone” who can pay her price you’re just a dollar sign to her. That can be addictive and I do believe people do this to fill emotional gaps because it’s quicker and easier even if it’s not permanent. It’s like taking drugs. You get temporary highs but then they fad so you pay for more.
Love this comment. So true
Thank you! Fuck Hollywood
The same women who use their looks to get acting jobs & have no problem elbowing out more experienced/talented actresses wait until their looks fade & the job offers stop coming to complain about Hollywood hiring based on looks. Hmmmm. In some countries those same women would’ve NEVER had a job at all because they didn’t bother to put in all the work to become a good actress.
megan fox properly love showing off her body for sure
I never see that, where do you see that?
Thats ridiculous. If you decrease the option to sexually exploit themselves, they have less options for media success? Thats just fucking wrong and idiotic
I understand that you don't like the idea that some women would choose that as an option, but it is simple math. Women have "X" number of options. Take one option away and now they have "X-1" options. As I understand math, X-1 < X.Please avoid name calling if you choose to reply.
I was calling the theory idiotic not you.
That is an ignorant theory. You act like if we don't take jobs and sex symbols, we have to work at dunkin donuts or some shit. Truth is, if women didn't take sex symbol jobs, they would have to get careers and that would ensure future stability instead of good money that runs out once your looks fade then you end up w bloddy wrists in a bathtub
@OlderAndWiser You see it there, and you know it is a 'snake' yet you pick it up, again, trying to convince yourself it is just a 'stick'!! You CAN NEVER REASON THESE KIND OF QUESTIONS OUT, with the ones that ask, because they are PASSIONATELY AGAINST it, with the question!!Best to just leave the 'stick' alone, and move on to some beautiful flower!! :)
@JackSmy Yes, my friend. She said, "come kick the football, Charlie Brown," and like a fool, I ran forward and tried to kick it.
"if you take away this opportunity for women, you DECREASE their options" OR you make opportunities for women to get representation without having to submit to specialization
Sexualization* not specialization
It is difficult for some women to accept this idea but there are women who want to make themselves known as an object of sexual desire. Willingly. Voluntarily. No coercion.
Many women have spoken out about how they have been pressured into getting nude or dressing/acting sexy on camera. That is also why older women (who are seen as less sexy) have more trouble getting roles. This shouldn't be happening. Women shouldn't be pressured into sexualizing themselves if they want media representation. If some women want to be sexualized, that's fine, but it goes too far when women don't have a choice but to submit to sexualization if they want a career in the industry
I have never endorsed women being pressured for sex in any setting.
@OlderAndWiser Hang about, just a bit!! Seems that a lot of women are looking at other women, not just sexually, but because of how they look, and dress. Not sure why, things some have said, and I have heard, but I am betting some women are liking some of those nude scenes, and maybe just for the "Ah, HA!!" factor, and maybe they look better than some of these 'stars'? :)
@mistixs But they DO HAVE A CHOICE! Don't take the role!! I have seen some that said they wouldn't, for a long time, and then, they CHOSE that, and for their own reasons when they were more mature, and maybe had a better feeling about their bodies, and their own self confidence!NOBODY SHOULD EVER be PRESSURED into doing NUDE scenes in films, or even pictures! But some CHOOSE that, and enjoy that, for their own reasons. It SHOULDN'T be a THIS OR THAT THING, in movies, or just pictures. She should CHOOSE, for HERSELF, what she will do, and nobody should pressure her!! Sadly, we live in REALITY, and there are a lot wanting to make money off that box-office draw, at her expense, maybe?Personally, I don't think anything less of a woman doing a nude scene, and maybe, in most cases, I think more highly of her, for doing that, for maybe confronting her own personal 'demons' about her body, and being nude. . .
@JackSmy And we also live in a world where some people campaign to liberate the "downtrodden unfortunates" and then expect the liberated souls to become clones of their self-appointed saviors.
@OlderAndWiser But what about the ones that PURPOSELY CHOOSE, and WANT TO BE those things, that maybe many women Abhor? Should their right, to show off their bodies, freely, in any way they CHOOSE, be INFRINGED, by prudish, pretentious, judgmental pricks, that hate their own bodies, and by extension hate anyone that looks better, and more attractive, than them?
@JackSmy Absolutely not, and that is my point. Feminism does not want to expand the choices of women if those choices contravene the approved goals of feminism; the movement is inherently self-contradictory and hypocritical whenever it claims that it wants to expands the choices available to woman..
@mistixs Women will always be sexualized. Humans are sexual creatures and men have a higher sex drive. Our species has evolved to be superficial. Its not gonna change no matter how "progressive" society gets.Everyone's gotta sacrifice something in order to be seen as attractive to the opposite sex, men or woman.
@Hunter7754 I agree, to a point! Nature and EVOLUTION makes men attracted to women, to continue the species!! I have been asking for YEARS, for a definition of "FEMINISM" as so many go back to that, BUT CANNOT DEFINE IT!! It is like RADICAL LIBERALISM!! THEY HATE THINGS, but can't define that, "BUT THEY KNOW IT, WHEN THEY SEE IT!!"Judgmental CRAP, I say!! Define it, or shut the FCK UP, about it!!
@JackSmy they can choose not to take the role but then they have limited opportunities for other jobs in the industry, unlike men who have far more opportunities for jobs that don't involve being sexualized.
@Hunter7754 you're acting like humans are slaves to our instincts
Sex sells so well you don’t even realize it’s there
@mistixs Humans are still animals at our core. That doesn't change no matter how politically correct society gets. We still make decisions based off of our biological makeup. It's one of the same reason why women are generally more interested in men that have those traditionally masculine traits. It's also why more men tend to be risk-takers. It is in our biological makeup. You can't just undo thousands upon thousands of years of human evolution.
@mistixs And the more people try to fight sexualization, the harder it will be because it will create an even bigger demand for it if tons of people are trying to stop sexualization. Point being, life isn't always fair. There's things men put up with that we don't like, but are we allowed to complain? No.
@Hunter7754 Humans also have a natural propensity to kill others, yet we have managed to (mostly) stamp that out. www.theguardian.com/.../natural-born-killers-humans-predisposed-to-study-suggests
@Hunter7754 I'm not saying women should NEVER be represented sexually. I'm saying it's outrageous that many women feel forced to submit to sexualization if they want a job in the industry. There should be more roles for women that don't involve sexualization
@mistixs I understand what you are saying, and I often see scenes in movies, that have female nudity, and they don't NEED to be there, for the continuity of the plot, or the story! But then, there are also a lot of scenes with guys, taking off their shirts, showing TOTALLY ROCKING ABS, and I have yet to see a guy post, here, and complain about that!I think women are AMAZING, and BEAUTIFUL, and YEAH, I love seeing them in every way, and that makes me smile!! BUT I RESPECT WOMEN, and their choices, even when I don't agree. What bothers me, is when some woman purposely makes a choice, to show things she decides to show, and yeah, she is getting paid, but nobody is holding a gun to her head, to make her do an older Playboy post, or some scene in a movie! THEY CHOOSE THAT, for their reasons, and who are we to judge them for that?I don't see the "FORCED TO DO IT" thing, that you suggest, and I mean no offense, saying that because I haven't seen it, it doesn't exist!! I think it TOTALLY EXISTS in Porn, but that is different than mainstream movies and TV.
@JackSmy women are only 1/3rd of speaking roles & get sexualized 3-5x more than men www.huffpost.com/.../women-film-study-annenberg_n_1107899The problem is that they can give up a role if they don't want to be sexualized, but then they have trouble finding a role that isn't sexualized, whereas men have countless nonsexualized roles to choose from.If some women want to be sexualized then that's fine but there should also be roles for women who aren't comfortable
@mistixs So how is that different than men, in BUSINESS! He chooses not to violate his personal ethics with a trade group, and then he is limited by his choices, after.I don't see the point, BEYOND PERSONAL CHOICES?Women, showing their bodies, to get 'better' roles, or not, and having more issues, but still getting other roles, and maybe better roles where their actual acting skills are more apparent, rather than showing their bodies, and being really mediocre, as an 'actress'?It goes both ways, and I don't see what you are talking about, and how so many are so down-graded, or ignored, and can't get jobs?
@JackSmy you think women don't have trouble in businesses too?
@mistixs I NEVER SAID THAT! Why do you assume, and 'paraphrase' incorrectly' from what I post, and then throw it back at me, like I am wrong?
Semi nude modeling help me pay for school so that was my call I could have easily said no. Wasn't productions fault
@WowwGirl that was your choice. But many women *are* pressured into it when they're not comfortable, and that's a problem
@mistixs agreed well said
@mistixs This is the point that I have been trying to make. Some women want that choice but feminists would take that away from them. I have never advocated that women should be pressured into selling themselves sexually, but. . . there are many pressures throughout life and it is up to each of us to say "no" rather than succumb to the pressure. It is not society's responsibility to insulate us from pressures.
I actually lie to see movies with average to under average looking people with charisma... It’s relatable and a good indication the acting might be legit 😛😊😊
@VIVANT Like "average" people, like you could meet on the street, or checking expiration dates, on milk at the Grocery store! Those that are just somehow REALLY attractive, in their own way, or mannerisms, and they catch your attention?
Hmm I mean like real looking people who have to rely on their talents to mesmerize people. I don’t trust conventionally atttwctyve actors bc they rely on looks to elicit emotional responses. Even if they are good actors it’s the fact they can rely on looks if they need to. Acting is really amazing it’s transcendental... I like to see people really develop a skill. Actors that are only in demand for ten years until gravity kicks in, don’t have time to develop their Skill. This is why lost well known actors are men. Bc women are prioritized based on looks and tossed aside just as easy. I have respect for films where the actors are just so do looking. The film is going to have to make it on its merit and talents and work. The more attractive the cast the lower my expectations. And it’s fitting Hollywood just Recycle the sane stuff all over bc they just want pretty people to fit into a cookie cutter story. Being attractive isn’t bad in itself it’s just when that is the priority everything else suffers.
in my opinion 🤷♂️😊😊
@VIVANT I mean no offense, but I have to wonder, and suggest, if women are so easily 'cast aside' as you say, why do some do nudity, later in life, and in movies, in their 40's, 50's and beyond?I remember totally CRUSHING on Debbie Gibson, in the late 1980's just praying she would do some nudes, so I could see all of her perfect beauty! But NO!! It wasn't until her 30's, and some said she didn't show 'enough'! Then Diane Keaton, in "Something's Gotta Give" and she was 60's?Many others!!
Oh dude, there is a DAMN long way to go. We are at the stage where women are sorta, kinda getting equality, but it's in transition, so a lot of it is full force hypocrisy. Take Wonder Woman for example. Didn't see the movie, but just like sailor moon, feminists praise the shit outta it, yet it is BEYOND sexualizing. Wonder Woman and Sailor Moon both are in goddam high heels and outfits that wouldn't do shit against bullets. I've rarely seen a male hero not fully suited up and with a good sense of armor and I think of them as far more logical in design for it. This goes well beyond fictional hero stuff though. Once a girl is supposed to fight in any case, but does so in high heels and a outfit exposing most skin, the logic flies out the window and you know for a fact there is sexualization behind it.
@errorgoodnameunfound God are you a pathetic cuck wtf. Women like to wear slutty outfits that's what they are doing all the time so why the fuck would they change reality in movies just because some idiotic fools like you have a problem with it.
@6suejsjsj You should stop using movies as the basis of your views on reality.
@6suejsjsj Calm the fuck down. I NEVER said I have an issue with how a girl dresses and in fact, would prefer a world where nudity was more accepted, as with how hot it can get, it could be very logical. I ONLY pointed out feminist hypocrisy towards media. If a girl wants to wear short shorts and bikini, I don't give a fuck, Im not a fogey. Learn to read ya white knight. :)
@Rexos it was a comparison are you dumb?
I think a solution to this is perhaps be a bit more lenient in which guy is sexualized. Girls of all types caan get sexualized, but perhaps if the average guy was too, wouldn't it balance it out? Women CAN make that happen anytime, meaning then sexualization would lessen in value if it's suddenly easier, eventually making it a lot less of something useful in marketing and such.
in my opinion nobody should be sexualized. Everyone should be able to dress how they want whenever they choose without becoming a target
seems like you are jealous of the beautiful girls showed on tv, and your insecurity makes you nervous, thats's bad, if there are men showed shirtless you will not blame, i saw this behavior in many insecure girls
Good point... I didn’t think of that.
@VIVANT har core porn is boring when compare with celebrity
If I watch a film with those things in it i tend to fast forward it. So does my husband.
No, most lead men aren't hunks. Joaquin phoenix for instance is an average dude. Hunks are a very VERY small percentage compared to sexually objectified women.
James bond is pretty much the definition of distasteful sexualizing.
Over time, sales of shit like fifty shades of grey and twilight say otherwise. Let's be honest, the same women who'd overreact with "disgust" over the thought of a guy watching porn once in a while is the same one who obsessively reads 50 shades. At least general porn is not a specific script and doesn't have to be stupid. I've seen stuff that tried to be sexy but I kept watching mainly because it was so goddam funny.
I do it cause I can
Sorry for the typos I was doing talking to text
Its becoming harder to now. I dont mind implied sex scenes. But its becoming more and more pornographic.
i just don't watch tv or movies anymore. haven't really in years. video games are much more stimulating with far less potential for that kind of thing
I get sick of hearing that men are more visual creatures. Didn't 50 shades of grey sell out? Is that movie NOT visual? in my opinion, men specially being more visual is a lie. They may by default notice things more, but seems to me many can self control better than given cred for.
@errorgoodnameunfound I didn't say that appeal lead to actions. Besides, that movie exist only because the book was a success in the first place, a book that mostly appealed to women.
You did, actually. "Men are visual creatures... therefore, it's n easy way to attract men and make more money." Giving money is an action. The book also is all about the visuals it wants readers to imagine. Not trying to be a dick, just trying to make a point.
@errorgoodnameunfound It's on average, it does not systematically leads to action. That's my point. Not all men will act on that appeal and some might not even be appealed. My point is that, on average, compared to women, that's what happens.Using your imagination and sight are two very distinct concepts that can overlap in some aspects but, here again, one does not necessarily imply the other.
