While there is some truth to this, it's not a direct connection to boobs. Instead, what IS true - and many studies going back decades have shown this - is that rich men overwhelmingly prefer THIN women - being thin and fit was the thing being sought, rather than breast size, but as you would expect, thin and fit women tend to have smaller boobs. Poor men are much more likely to be attracted to heavier women, who tend to have bigger boobs and asses (this doesn't mean ALL poor men, just a much larger percentage compared to rich men).
And my experience backs this up. I'm a mobile DJ (or, I was until COVID killed all parties), and about 1/3 of my gigs were for wealthy customers. I've done over 100 parties for predominantly wealthy people and their friends, and you'd have 80-100 women at these parties, and at most, you'd have 1 or 2 that weren't thin, and sometimes zero. You might have one or two of these women with relatively big boobs for their thin bodies, but there were a lot of A and B-cups.
If you search for "rich men preferring thin women", I'm sure you'll find plenty of research showing that is true.

As I said, boob size is merely a side effect of wealthy men preferring thinner women.
And obviously none of that means you wouldn't find examples of the opposite thing happening. Also I didn't see anything about this but I'm guessing "heavier women" doesn't refer to visibly unhealthy overweight women.

I have read hypothesis of a link between male's preferences in female body shape and their status before: One assumed mechanism has been that high status males prefer slimmer females as they correspond to an ideal shown in western media and are thus more suitable as trophies to show off in front of peers.
I have checked on the study cited in the article and at a superficial glance the results appear ok: 266 and 121 are reasonable sample sizes and the statistical differences appear significant.
However it must be noted that even in the highest socioeconomic group there is still a very strong preference for large breast sizes. Only that it is less pronounced than in the lower status groups, where that preference is extreme.
So the answer to that question would clearly be "No": The Metro article completely misquoted the studies.
As a sidenote: I found that the researchers who conducted the study have had at least one dubious publication in the past: "Men’s Oppressive Beliefs Predict Their Breast Size Preferences in Women" from 2013, where they define oppressive believes as "sexist attitudes and tendency to objectify women". "Oppressive beliefs" is a loaded term and to write about a "tendency to objectify women" is outright unscientific. For reasons of objectivity, normative terms such as the two quoted are not used in serious science. This publication is of course rather old and might have been a university project at a time when the researchers had not yet been qualified to uphold scientific standards. Still the phrasing is so severely flawed and demonstrating a very probelematic attitude towards science that I would be extra scrutinous towards any results published by them and not trust the recent studies without having had the time to check the math and methods more carefully.

Well, it has been seen that rich people do like women with a more thin and fit body. But I think that when you are poor, you don't really think much about sexual preferences, like what kinda body or what boob size etc. But when you are rich, your thought process becomes more sophisticated and you think more about stuff, you have the luxury to think like that, thats when they start to think a little about what they want in a woman, sexual wise. Its not that all rich people like smaller boobs and all, its just their preference, and vice verse.

Or it is a bias to find the people you consider dating to be your type, big breasts look better in cheaper clothing so poor men will be around women who are more attractive with big breasts while rich men are around women with clothes that fit the waist and legs more and make any breast size look good.

Rich men care more about society and beauty and want real skinny girls like arm candy. Poorer more care more about biological urge being full filled and large boobs incite carnal arousal. Also a guy with less food is attracted to a woman carrying milk biologically.
