Why does New York City have so many homeless people?

I’ve never seen anything like it. Ridiculous they don’t live in tents like in Cali they just sleep on the dirty street.

I feel like with the way Covid is ravaging our country, we are seeing record numbers of homeless people. Out here in LA, there were actually a few late nights where you’d see so many uhauls. People trying to move out of their apartments before the landlords wake up because they can’t afford their rent anymore. There’s always been a horrible amount of homeless individuals out here, but right now it is astonishing. It really feels like we are back in the Great Depression. People can’t survive like this, and the few who are able to keep their heads above water are the lucky ones.

It’s much worse than Los Angeles unless you’re in Skid Row which I always avoided.

I’m not sure if you’ve been out here since March, but honestly, it’s gotten worse than I’ve ever seen it, even outside of skid row (which i too avoid). Although I’ve never been to New York, so it’s hard to compare.

They both have homeless people in LAX and JFK at the airports. I lived in Santa Monica last year but in OC now.

I mostly fuck with West Hollywood when I’m in LA where it’s preppy and they aren’t homeless people.

Ohh okay, I don't know why I thought you were a New Yorker lol. I’m also living in Orange County, but have been in la more often these days since I’m out of work. I love West Hollywood and I don’t really see homeless there, but more in the south central area. Also I’m not sure what the area is called like on your way to universal studios (if that makes sense lol) but there as well. It’s just bad!😩

Yeah I see it driving around the city but try to avoid it. Vancouver has a neighborhood called East Hastings and people just shooting up fentanyl, methamphetamine, smoking crack cocaine, and having sex in public but it’s only one neighborhood like that. New York disturbed me the most because the streets were the dirtiest and people just sleep on the streets having people walk over them. Times Square had more bums than normal people.

Vancouver like Canada? That’s insane! I couldn’t imagine having to witness that. New York sounds like they’re going through it too. Seeing all this homelessness is just devastating.

2. High rent ( lose there house)
3. Mentally ill people (familys kick out or they dont take their meds
4. Depressed people who gave up


Its higher there becuase there more people there.

I wantwd to make a docmuentry on Los Angeles i have videos of all over the city to the hood to middle class areas to busniess areas.


I have a way to fix it. Pretty easy and create new jobs

It's not about them being sent there. The people can't work because of the governor and mayor who are keeping the business either closed or barely opened. And because of that people are losing their jobs and in turn their homes. And because of the high cost of living in New York they don't have the money to leave.

I thought you were talking about the democrats in the federal government. People should be able to work without restrictions, the government shouldn’t babysit them so idiots don’t get sick.

It's the state government blocking the federal government from helping reestablish jobs. They hate Trump so much they'd gladly let the people suffer.
