My doctor stopped my birth control saying I'll get cancer because it's the side effect after 10 years of having it.

My face has hyperpigmentation since I took them and I've been off them for many years and it never went away.

I became asexual. I had no desire for sex or men.

I have reoccurring urine infections because of it.

All my b vitamins are very low because that's a side effect.

Well, when my Cousin was a teen , my Mom was her Guardian, so we took her to get birth control and she took was is called Depo Shot and you got to be on your menstrual cycle when you get it and I do believe that you got wait a week before having unprotected sex also the shot should last you 13-14 weeks before you got to go to get another shot and trust me there is no shame in being on birth control it's better to be protected my Cousin was age 13-14 and my Mom said , she wasn't raising a baby and after while my Cousin went on her own to get the birth control shot cause she was minor but your legal age so your good to go

also, spermicide and other contraception has the same 99.9% protection that pills, IUDS and other invasive methods have

Yeah I don’t get stuff that says causes weight gain It means causes people to want to eat more than usual/ than they need and if they DO they gain weight. Lol you can’t just gain weight from air or bad thoughts 😛

Don't be surprised if you end up with a 17 day long period while for the first few months. Ask your doctor about birth control that doesn't cause weight gain. It makes life easier.

If you're 19, doctors can't share your medical information with anyone else. The only way she might be able to find out is if she actively checks your health insurance billing history. Pelvic examines are pretty necessary for women to make sure you're cancer free, so you could always use your annual check up as an excuse and ask all the questions you want.

Can cause a lot of mood swings and weight gain. If its hormonal then it tricks your body into thinking your already pregnant so that's why the side effects can be so strong. Some people get them and others dont so all depends on your body.

You should talk to your doctor before starting because there are different kind of methods, and differents kind of pills with different hormone levels... some of them may make you sick.

They can help acne and cramping which is great but sometimes girls skip months on it or have worse periods. It may take a few before you find what works for you.
