The reason why age of consent exists isn't because of a 16 and 16 hooking up lol. So it's not a big deal at all. Of course law still could do something about it if they knew. But the reason why it is there is to primarily stop adults taking advantage of teens. And well rape laws are there to stop people forcing each other not matter the age. But statutory rape between 2 consenting teens similar age is just kinda there to stop teen pregnancy's and for it to be done safely but if it is done safely and causes no pregnancy between you both, Not many people would actually care morally that you did it. Where as the Adults taking advantage and Rape most people would.
But of course Law wants to decrease chances of anything to go wrong so it's just there as a law rather than a major moral problem if people don't fallow it.
Basically Some laws are just precautions to other things rather than that main thing been the problem. So no not a big deal.
Not to mention if you do safely and don't get pregnant the law really wouldn't have anyway of knowing it even happened so shrugs.
Legally the age of consent is to prevent adults from having sexual relations with children so if you are both under 18 it should be good
I personally dont think teenagers should have sex so young and I waitied until I was 21 which I'm glad for because i was a dumbass when I was a teenager and most others are too. However im not bashing other people for their choices at all. To each their own. As long as you give consent then that's your business.
I lost it just a couple of weeks after turning 14 (age of consent in my country). I think it's not a big deal as long as it stays just between you and him, don't think they'd go after a teen couple for having sex.
