Rinsing your vagina alone is poor hygiene. By rinsing, you're simply giving the bacteria on your body a nice luxury pool to swim in. I'm willing to bet that any girl that just rinses herself down there has a stank pussy. Whenever I clean my vagina, I use pH balanced light soap strictly designed for feminine hygiene. My main brand that I use is Summer's Eve. I put a small portion of soap on the washcloth, and wash my whole area down there using the soap and wash in between my labia area and clit. It's very important to wash in between those hard to reach places because nastiness can accumulate there and produce a bad smell. Afterwards, I rinse it off. As for the vagina, meaning the actual canal, I give it a quick rinse with filtered water. I understand that the vagina is a "self-cleaning oven," but that doesn't mean that it is completely clean, especially if you have a significant other that enjoys giving you head. Filtered water has a neutral pH balance. I just simply wet my finger with warm water and lightly rinse the inside with my finger. When I get out the shower, I dry the inside of it using a dry washcloth, also using a finger. Personally, I don't understand why doctors and others don't recommend this. I've been doing this all my life and never really suffered vaginal odor problems or ever had any infections. In fact, I actually feel a lot cleaner when I wash it this way and my fiancee never complains about any funny smells.
I've been told you're not supposed to use anything down there, so I just rinse it with warm water (detachable shower head!) I have feminine wipes that I sometimes use though.
I think feminine wipes count towards washing it. It’s like using vaginal soap with a wipe since toilet paper doesn’t clean anything and leaves residue.
I've given oral to multiple women and I've never had an issue with how it smelled. There are differences between women but I've always enjoyed it and I can't care if they use soap or not. Putting anything inside our vaginas to wash it can seriously upset the ph balance that helps with the self cleaning system... Definitely not recommended.

I mean I don’t think you have to get soap all up in there to make sure it’s clean but soap on the outer parts of the vulva for sure combined with a thorough rinse with water on the inner portions of the vulva to me is what is needed and appreciated when I’m giving oral.
